Iron Curtain Security Solutions has been providing industry-leading electronic security solutions throughout the Western Cape for over a decade. We specialise in advanced AI CCTV surveillance, access control, alarm systems, networking, fibre infrastructure, and 24/7 off-site monitoring.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and motivated IT & Electronic Security Field Technician to join our professional technical team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on field position involving the installation, configuration, commissioning and maintenance of modern IP-based electronic security and networking systems at residential, commercial and industrial sites.

You'll be working with some of the latest technologies available, including:

AI CCTV Surveillance Systems
Access Control & Facial Recognition
Alarm Systems
IP Video Intercoms
Structured Cabling
Fibre & Network Infrastructure
Managed PoE Switches
Cloud Networking
Remote Monitoring Platforms
Mobile Applications & Remote Access Solutions

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure and commission CCTV, access control, alarm and intercom systems.
Configure IP networks, routers, managed switches, VLANs and PoE infrastructure.
Install and configure Video Management Software (VMS), access control software and client applications.
Configure remote viewing on smartphones, tablets and desktop computers.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and networking faults.
Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
Produce professional documentation including job cards, commissioning certificates, installation reports and network diagrams.
Train clients on the operation of their security systems.
Deliver installations that meet Iron Curtain Security's exceptionally high-quality standards.
Work closely with the Technical Manager and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 3 years' experience in IT networking and/or electronic security installations.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking.
Experience with routers, managed switches, PoE networking and wireless networking.
Experience installing IP CCTV, Access Control and Alarm systems.
Good understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Experience configuring mobile applications and remote access solutions.
Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid South African driver's licence.
Clean criminal record.
PSIRA registration will be advantageous.
Ability to work at heights when required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: R20,000 – R23,000 per month (CTC), depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
07:30 – 17:00

Overtime, standby duties and occasional weekend work may be required in accordance with operational requirements.
