Who We Are
India Ink was born from a love of textiles and the magic of Indian craftsmanship. What began as a search through Jaipur's markets for hand-block-printed linens and vintage kanthas has grown into a much-loved homeware brand based in Cape Town.
We work closely with artisans across India to bring hand-stitched, block-printed and embroidered pieces to life — each one thoughtfully made and rich in story. Our collections are a celebration of colour, craft and the beauty of the handmade.
Who We're Looking For
India Ink has an exciting opportunity for a creative and visually driven Photographer & Content Creator to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who loves styling, photography and storytelling, and who is excited by the idea of creating beautiful content around interiors, colour and craftsmanship.
Working closely with our Creative Director and Content Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for bringing our collections to life through still imagery and video content.
This is a permanent part-time role with flexibility built in. Content will be briefed the month prior, with approximately five pieces of content due weekly (20 pieces per month). We are focused on the quality and timely delivery of content, rather than fixed working hours
What You Will Do
Content Creation
- Create approximately 20 pieces of content each month.
- Produce a mix of still imagery and short-form video content.
- Create Reels and behind-the-scenes content.
- Capture lifestyle imagery that reflects the India Ink brand.
- Edit and deliver content according to brief.
Shoots & Styling
- Attend creative briefings with the Creative Team
- Work from monthly content briefs provided two weeks in advance.
- Style and capture content across bedding, tableware and décor collections.
- Participate in both on-site and off-site shoots.
- Assist in bringing seasonal stories and campaigns to life.
Skills & Attributes
- A strong eye for styling, composition and colour.
- Confident in creating video content and short-form Reels.
- Passionate about photography and visual storytelling.
- Able to work independently and manage deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication skills.
- A genuine appreciation for design, craft and storytelling.
Tools & Experience
- Experience with photography and content creation.
- Confident editing photos and videos.
- Familiarity with Lightroom, Photoshop, CapCut or similar editing tools.
- Experience executing or assisting on photoshoots.
- Experience creating content for Instagram and other digital platforms.
Other Requirements
- 2+ years experience creating content for a brand or creative business is preferred
- A portfolio of previous work is required.
- Attendance at briefing sessions and scheduled shoot days is required.
- Availability for both on-site and off-site shoots.
- Use of a personal laptop and camera is required.
- A driver's license and own transport are advantageous.
