Full Job Description

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a respected luxury hospitality property in the Cape Winelands.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef who enjoys leading a busy kitchen, mentoring a brigade, and delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest culinary standards while ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Executive Chef with the daily management of the kitchen.
Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen brigade.
Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation.
Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal menu changes.
Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
Monitor food costs, wastage and kitchen efficiency.
Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained.
Assist with staff training, scheduling and performance management.
Maintain a calm, organised approach during busy service periods.
Work closely with Front of House to ensure an outstanding guest experience.

Requirements

Formal Culinary Qualification.
Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or experienced Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, lodge or fine dining restaurant.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration.
Passion for producing exceptional cuisine.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Own reliable transport will be advantageous.
