The Junior Pricing Analyst is responsible for supporting the pricing and commercial team through the preparation, maintenance, and analysis of freight forwarding and customs clearing rates. This entry-level role assists with customer quotations, carrier rate management, data analysis, and pricing administration to ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable pricing solutions for customers.
The successful candidate will develop an understanding of international freight forwarding, customs clearance, transportation costs, and supply chain solutions while building strong analytical and commercial.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare customer quotations for airfreight, sea freight, road freight, customs clearance, warehousing, and value-added logistics services.
- Obtain and update rates from shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs brokers, and service providers.
- Ensure quotations are accurate, complete, and submitted within agreed timelines. - Assist in preparing pricing responses for tenders, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Maintain pricing databases and rate management systems.
- Analyse freight rates, carrier costs, and supplier pricing trends.
- Compare vendor costs against customer selling rates to identify margin opportunities.
- Support profitability analysis on customer quotations and existing business.
- Prepare basic reports and dashboards for management review.
- Assist with market research and competitor benchmarking.
- Maintain records of customer quotations and contractual rates.
- Ensure all pricing documentation is stored and updated accurately.
- Support contract implementation by ensuring approved rates are uploaded correctly.
- Assist with customer inquiries related to pricing and quotations.
- Liaise with operations, procurement, carriers, and sales teams to obtain service and cost information.
- Build productive relationships with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Support the sales team with timely and accurate commercial information.
- Ensure pricing follows company policies and profitability guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer rates and commercial information.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the pricing function.
- Adhere to company quality, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Adhoc Duties as assigned.
