1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure that all processes and procedures in terms of key tasks and responsibilities are carried out efficiently.

3. PLANNING
3.1 Ensuring adequate stock of all mechanical and packaging components, materials and tools for the completion of scheduled production.
3.2 Scheduling the use of machinery (lathe, milling machines, etc) to avoid conflicts
between various tasks.
3.3 Scheduling of maintenance and safety work.
4. DEADLINES
4.1 Production deadlines set by Production Manager.
4.2 Service deadlines.
4.3 Stock Control.
5. SUPERVISION
5.1 Direct open communication with Production Manager.
5.2 Tasks are viewed and scheduled daily.
5.3 The Mechanician will consult with the Managing Director as and when
problems arise that require a decision to be made by the Managing Director.
6. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
6.1 Education: Minimum Ideal
Electrical/Mechanical N3 Trade Test
Trade test - Fitter
6.2 Training: Minimum Ideal
On-the-job Training Internal/External Courses
6.3 Experience (Career path that should be followed before reaching the present position)
Experience in operating a lathe, milling machine and Electrical Field (Mill Wright)
7. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
7.1 Production
7.1.1 Milling and drilling all precision work to specified standards.
7.1.2 The assembly of enclosures in a quantity and time determined by production
requirements.
7.1.3 The delegation and supervision of tasks for the Mechanical Production Officer.
7.1.4 On-the-job training for the Mechanical Production Officer.
7.1.5 Maintaining complete and up-to-date documentation of production assemblies.
7.1.6 Tool maintenance and replacement.
7.2 Maintenance and Safety
7.2.1 General upkeep and repair of AECE premises.
7.2.2 Auditing of safety procedures.
7.2.3 Appointed as Safety Officer in terms of OHASA.
7.3 Stock Control
7.3.1 Ordering of mechanical components, leather bags and front panels.
7.3.2 Controlling and maintaining stock levels of mechanical components and semi
Finished assemblies in terms of the requirements of a production schedule.
7.3.3 Inspection of delivered components on arrival.
Delegating the above to Mechanical Production Office with controlled random checks.
7.3.4 Stock take.
7.3.5 Ordering of Schaffler and Beethoven.
7.3.6 Maintain stock levels on all mechanical components, enclosures, leather bags and front panels.
7.4 Service and Repairs
Quote and repair all Schaffler and Beethoven exploders.
7.5 Housekeeping
Work area and mechanical stock clean, functional and ergonomic.
7.6 General
To follow Company procedures and abide by Company policies and set standards at all times.
Performs other tasks when workload or absence of other staff dictates it, e.g. QA, Certification.
Pay: R45 000,00 - R100 000,00 per month
