EcoRecycling is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented intern to join our laboratory team. This training programme is designed for individuals looking to apply their academic background in a practical, fast-paced analytical environment. The role is heavily focused on instrumental analysis and quality control. For the right candidate, this internship serves as a direct pathway to a full-time, permanent position within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, calibrate, and perform basic maintenance on the Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) machine.
Prepare chemical samples and standard solutions for routine analysis.
Record, analyse, and report all laboratory data with high precision and scientific accuracy.
Maintain strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) protocols to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
Support the broader laboratory team with daily operational tasks, inventory management, and technical troubleshooting.

Minimum Requirements

Education: A National Diploma (minimum) in Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrable, hands-on experience operating an ICP machine is strictly required.
Industry Experience: Previous practical experience working within a laboratory setting.
Compliance Knowledge: A working understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and standard laboratory safety procedures.
Location: Must be based in Johannesburg, preferably in or within easy commuting distance of Germiston.

What We Offer

A competitive internship stipend of R12,000 to R15,000 per month.
