We're looking for a talented Backend Developer to help design, build, and scale the services that power our platform.
Role Overview
As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side systems that support our products. You'll work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and leadership to build reliable APIs, scalable infrastructure, and high-performance services.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
- Design and optimise database schemas and queries
- Integrate with third-party platforms and APIs
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions
- Contribute to DevOps and deployment processes
- Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver end-to-end features
- Help establish engineering best practices and coding standards
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of professional Java backend development experience
- Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Familiarity with Docker and containerised deployments
- Understanding of authentication, security, and data protection principles
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with WebSockets or real-time communication systems
- Knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with AI/LLM integrations
- Experience working in SaaS or startup environments
- Familiarity with video, communications, or customer engagement platforms
- Experience with Spring Boot
