Full Job Description

Videosign is building the future of video communication, automation, and customer engagement. We create products that help businesses connect with customers through secure, scalable, and intelligent video experiences.

We're looking for a talented Backend Developer to help design, build, and scale the services that power our platform.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side systems that support our products. You'll work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and leadership to build reliable APIs, scalable infrastructure, and high-performance services.

This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on both the technical direction of the platform and the growth of the company.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs
Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
Design and optimise database schemas and queries
Integrate with third-party platforms and APIs
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Participate in architecture and technical design discussions
Contribute to DevOps and deployment processes
Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver end-to-end features
Help establish engineering best practices and coding standards

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of professional Java backend development experience
Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
Experience building RESTful APIs
Strong understanding of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
Familiarity with Docker and containerised deployments
Understanding of authentication, security, and data protection principles
Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Skills

Experience with microservices architecture
Experience with WebSockets or real-time communication systems
Knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with AI/LLM integrations
Experience working in SaaS or startup environments
Familiarity with video, communications, or customer engagement platforms
Experience with Spring Boot
