We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Software Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise software solutions while mentoring development teams and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Or a related qualification
Professional Certifications (one or more of the following will be advantageous):
- Java/Oracle Developer Certification
- Microsoft Azure Developer Certification
- Agile Certification (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
- DevOps Certification
- Other relevant software development certifications
Experience
- Minimum 7 years' experience in software development, application configuration, or systems development.
- Proven experience leading software development projects and technical teams.
- Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience developing enterprise-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of software solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Develop secure, scalable, and high-performing applications.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Mentor and coach junior and intermediate developers.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and software development best practices.
- Manage application integrations and system enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ensure software quality through automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
- Maintain technical documentation and development standards.
Technical Skills
Experience with several of the following:
- Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript or similar programming languages
- SQL and database design
- RESTful APIs and Microservices
- Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
