MVIA is seeking a commercially minded, execution-oriented Innovation & Product Manager to identify, design, deliver, and own strategic initiatives, financial products, and technology-enabled capabilities across the Group.
Sitting within the Strategy, Innovation & Product (SiP) function, this role operates at the intersection of innovation, product ownership, delivery, and technology governance. It is suited to a high-calibre professional who is comfortable owning outcomes end-to-end — from opportunity definition through to delivery, adoption, and sustained value realisation.
The Innovation & Product Manager plays a key role in shaping the future of the business, ensuring new ideas, products, and system changes are deliberately designed, governed, delivered, and transitioned — without disrupting Business-as-Usual (BAU).
- Identify, assess, and shape strategic opportunities aligned to Group objectives
- Own assigned financial products across their full lifecycle, from ideation to retirement
- Define product vision, value propositions, and roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders
- Initiate, scope, and lead projects through structured project and change delivery methodologies
- Translate business and product needs into clear solution designs, requirements, and delivery plans
- Orchestrate delivery across internal stakeholders and external vendors or partners
- Act as a delegated authority for technology and system changes, ensuring alignment to approved roadmaps and architectural direction
- Assess and route system changes for approval, BAU implementation, or SiP-managed project delivery
- Ensure solutions integrate effectively across process, product, data, and technology dimensions
- Drive change readiness, training, and adoption to ensure delivered outcomes are embedded successfully
- Monitor product, project, and capability performance against defined success metrics
- Identify and manage risks across delivery, product ownership, and system evolution
- Support clean transition and handover of delivered initiatives to BAU or Product Ownership
- Contribute insights, reporting, and recommendations to SiP governance and executive forums
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Insurance, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred)
- 5 to 8 years’ experience in a hybrid role spanning product management, business analysis, project delivery, or innovation
- Experience operating in regulated or complex environments (financial services, insurance, or similar strongly advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience working with external vendors and delivery partners
- Proven ability to deliver initiatives end-to-end, from concept to embedded outcome
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong product ownership and lifecycle management capability
- Experience translating business needs into clear solution designs and requirements
- Practical project and change delivery experience
- Ability to govern and challenge system and solution design without being hands-on technical
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Commercially minded, with the ability to assess value, risk, and impact
Core Competencies
- Strategic Thinking: Connects initiatives and products to broader business objectives
- Execution Discipline: Turns ideas into delivered, measurable outcomes
- Product Mindset: Focuses on lifecycle value and sustainability
- Decision Making: Makes sound calls in ambiguous environments
- Collaboration: Builds effective relationships across teams, vendors, and leaders
Behavioural Competencies
- Ownership & Accountability: Owns outcomes, not just activity
- Influence & Credibility: Challenges constructively and holds others to account
- Adaptability: Comfortable operating in change and ambiguity
- Change Leadership: Drives adoption of new products and ways of working
- Integrity & Governance: Applies sound judgement and ethical standards
