PBT Group is looking for experienced Node.js Developers to join a high-performing engineering team delivering innovative payment solutions within a fast-paced enterprise environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern, scalable payment platforms that process high volumes of secure transactions. You'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining backend services while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, high-quality software. Candidates with Node.js expertise and exposure to Java will be well suited to this role.
The initial engagement is a 6-month contract, with the intention of transitioning into a permanent position based on performance and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
Develop secure, high-performance APIs and microservices.
Build and enhance payment processing functionality and system integrations.
Produce clean, maintainable and well-tested code aligned to engineering best practices.
Payments & Integrations
Develop integrations with internal and external payment systems.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration and production issues.
Ensure solutions meet security, reliability and performance standards.
Software Engineering
Participate in solution design and technical discussions.
Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices where applicable.
Collaboration
Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers and Solution Architects.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
Support production deployments and assist with issue resolution.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering team.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Minimum 4+ years' experience in backend software development.
Strong commercial experience developing applications using Node.js.
Exposure to Java development.
Experience working within Agile software development environments.
Experience building scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
