Overall Reviews at Transnet
Fast paced production, but less dedicated people, less accountable employees
Transnet less consider learned people especially in management, training under job orientation is not there, you do how you think & has lot of blaming culture under its OD's, less departments are taking accountability when things are not going well.
OD's are still the defensive mode at all times, hence poor performance
ConsLong hours working, lot of conferences and work calls while you're home with the family
I will really appreciate to get an offer to be of the Transnet employee. I will really that chance to the fullest
It will be a great benefit to have me in your company because I'm that kind of person who always will to give motive words to my surroundings or colleagues. So as we all know that some of us needs someone to motivate in order to clim up high so to have me in your company it will be a great feeling and a great benefit.
ProsYes they provide with beverages
ConsNot too long. It's was maintainable
Best company to work for. Unfortunately it is often used as a stepping stone to most who are not interested in making a positive impact. Being happy in this company means not expecting anything in return, just giving your best, following policy and procedure at all times. If you do this, you will most certainly reap the benefits.
I am extremely grateful to be working here, proud to be a Transnet employee.
It very much fun working there even though we worked long hours but most off all it was amazing
In my own opinion i was very much happy to work there it was amazing, the supervisors ,managers, sheq were very friendly they treated us well..i would be very much happier if i could work there again.
ProsWell there were only 2 lunchies😊 there after that it work all the way.
ConsTjoooh too much long hours even night shift 6 to 6 everyday.
drive and lead staff to n from site
Take staff to and from site. Plan the job first. Know where we going, make sure all our material and safety gear is in the vehicle. Have tool box talk. Sign register... Do job observation. Make sure my staff is in a sober mind to work.,and make sure rest of the staff is well. Report to superior in the morning
n after shift everyday
Transnet is a great company to work for.
Transnet is a great company to work for they pay well you get good benefits as well, it is just a problem when you end up in a toxic work environment. Then it affects all sections of your life in a negative way.
ProsGreat pay and benefits
ConsIts a nightmare when you end up under the wrong leadership and toxic environment
Leadership is a big determinant to an employees experience of what is otherwise an incredible place to work.
The wheels turn slow, however it is an incredible experience working at one of the largest organisations in the country. Management can't be a hindrance to speed to execution.
Enjoy working with my team and deliver the projects
- Month end reporting
- Learn to do big engineering projects
- Management - unprofessional, more personal
- Culture - average, no sense of urgency
- Enjoyed being part of different teams and working on different projects and managed to deliver them successfully
Exciting environment with plenty of opportunities
One of the best companies to work. Good career path. Growth and learning opportunities and investment in human capital. The diverse nature of the business exposes one to a global approach of doing business while creating exposure at the same time.
I really enjoy working for Transnet, opportunity to grow is unlimited, but it seems only a fee get them, I personally that go the extra mile don
To hardest part of the job is when vehicle users don't adhere to the fleet policy and procedures and the part I enjoy the most is support all to succeed.
Good company to work for
Transnet is one of the best and big companies in south africa, once you get employed you feel at home and your job is secured, one disadvantage is that you have little time with family which i guess it's related to industry work conditions, other than that it's a nice company to work for. It's just that now the company is not doing well as before due to economy dropping in south africa and the pandemic is not helping, due to this they even offering voluntary packages which to me is a sign that they are not doing well.
ConsShortage of jobs
Great place to work
Worked at TransNet for 5 years. Working with them is like working with family. The heads of the company truely care about you as a person. They invest in your learning and were transparent about their goals.
ProsFree lunches, positive attitude, good work like balance, family like environment
Conshealthcare wasn't the best, no for advancement since the company was so small
