Healthy workplace with room for growth and sufficient support systems to its own staff.
I started in the Admin department, were a team of approximately 9 and we were all working together as a team and always prioritized team work over individual triumphs. We worked hand in hand mainly with the Transport Department and we had very good relationships with our superiors or managers. The company always appreciated our efforts as individuals and collectively as a department. I think we were fairly compensated for our days work. As an admin clerk our daily or main duties were to capture all the shipments records on the system accurately and timely, and to report on all the challenges we faced we the our customers so that they can could be resolve in time.
Later I got promoted to work for the Transport department as a Transport Administrator, that was a very new challenge for me and I had all the help and support that I needed from both departments and I was always appreciative of that. As Transport Administrator my main job was to record and analyze every single trip of the day, including all the basic details of each trip such as the fleet number of the vehicle, the driver and his assistants, the customers of that trip, the quantity of stock inside the vehicle and the fuel consumption after the trip has been successfully done. I will always appreciate, admire and recommend RCL Foods for graduates and people who are on their entry levels and trying to build a professional career, I learned a lot form the company and I am a better person personally and professionall
Caring for employees yet very productive orientated Company
A day at Rcl foods transport department for me starts off with cup of black coffee. Then prep work starts for doing scheduled services or repairs. Over the past years I've learned about transport, logistics, managing of employee/sub-co-ordinates and how much technology has changed on commercial vehicles. As a senior in our workshop I feel in a strong way responsible for keeping up the work spirits among fellow employees as work loads are really really tough most days. The hardest part of my job is working with people and keeping them happy and motivated everyday yet encouraging them to do their utmost best to ensure high quality workmanship and minimal come backs. What I enjoy the most about my day/work is to be able to learn. To be able to solve a difficult problem and to have a clean/empty workshop at the end of the day is such a satisfaction!!
ProsWorking with colleagues that feel like family
ConsFrom time to time you have to work long hours/overtime to keep the fleet running smoothly.
I have been extremely privileged to work for such a leading food producing Company. Previously RCL Foods was known as Rainbow Chicken and I was involved in the Agriculture and Processing departments for a number of years where I learnt how complex the chicken business is and how there are so many different variables that can affect the success of a chicken business.
I worked for a fantastic management team who were very supportive and encouraging. My co-workers were from a range of different backgrounds and cultures and it was always a pleasure to engage with them.
There was no part of my job that was difficult and I enjoyed all aspects of my work. It gave me great pleasure to be able to support my Directors efficiently and effectively freeing up their day so that they could concentrate on their immediate work.

In work is very good and funny because we respect each other and love to encourage each other about working smart and safe. I have learned that in work place is where we need to be focused and do the job according to company's rules. I also learned that every mistake or accident u come across u need to report same time. our management are very good people they know how employees must be treated in order to make a very good production. They tell us how to work and give us very quick instruction to do job faster than usual. The most hardest part is when it rains because, forklifts are slippery on the flow. the most enjoyable part is when we have got too much job to do because, when the job is not enough we spend too much time doing nothing I feel like time is not going.
Customer phone about their account not being paid very angry.

I started as an apprentice had no knowledge of factory experience or whatsoever, but in three month I was speaking the same language, i blended in and everyone was so supportive and understand mostly willing to give everything they have that will benefit my training.I qualified as a Millwright and I had my first standby the second week I jumped for joy cause I knew that was the opportunity I always wanted. It all went well and everyone was happy for me give me a round of applause>
Great Company but lower Management Needs improvement
Great Company, rcl foods has accomplish many milestones this past two years, including the Do More Foundation. im proud working for a company with a clear vision and the ability to help its environment. I think their top and middle manament are selected carefully but they have improve their lower management. theres alot of issues at the bottom which top management is not aware about. I think they are only inthat positions to get their paycheck, but they dont influence, motivate, guide employees and communicate effectively, theres alot more but i think of thats mostly important.
