My current role of responsibility responsible is managing, growing, and providing solutions for a large diverse client base in Gauteng.
On a given day, during the early hours you will find me speaking to the clients, finding out – proactively – what their priorities are for the week, communicate the clients’ needs and organizing my schedule around the client’s priorities. I do this on Monday so that the rest of the week is well organized and I can effectively use my time in exceeding client’s expectations and avoid Friday evening surprises. Rest of the week goes in delivering the product(s), updating the status with the client, answering emails and calls.
I have learnt that relationships are important working together with people who inspire me, challenge me and constantly teach me new things every day. Having great Networks encourages strong support systems. The more you build close connections with people you admire and trust, the more successful you will be.

A typical day at the office would start of with a meeting with my administration team with regard to the reception area as well as filling of the case files the investigators delivered to them. After this I will start reading through the investigators reports submitted to me for vetting.
Once vetting or corrections are made on the reports I will then distribute it to the relevant parties, such as the branch managers, reporting managers an where needed to the Head of the Risk department.
My manager will be calling in between all the vetting of reports for things she needs to be done. Visitors will also come for meetings and the receptionist will call me to fetch them at the front area.
Some of the investigators will not be at the desks and I will be answering their calls and taking messages.
Should there be interviews scheduled for my boss, i will receive the candidates and take them to the interview room.
Should a new appointee start work on the day, I will need to collect him from the main reception and take him or her through the building, and introduce him or her to person they will directly deal with.
I will then go through my emails again and ensure that all emails are answered as well as ensure that my boss gets her meetings on time. At times she would not respond to my sms messages, and I will have to call her out of her the meeting should there be an overrun.

Detailed association reporting that includes the pulling of data monthly and weekly to ensure MasterCard, Visa and American Express understand the performance of their products against set targets or overall performance.
Fixing and/or updating scripts to include product enhancements.

I love people i love serving people and it gives me grate pleasure to help others a typical good day at work revolves around clients my work is client centered and because of that i believe in providing world class service to my clients and making a difference in there lives.
I learn that to be able to provide world class service i need to be on top of my game buy reading a lot of the banks conformance news letters about sales and productivity and having product knowledge so that i can constantly making my target on branch level.
Management is the key i believe that i am first a manger of myself i have to be accountable and responsible and extremely discipline in what i do at work. As their are so many different issues I am dealing with I cannot plan a day like a normal worker. My first 7 days of the month consist of month end. I am responsible for compiling all Management infromation Systems packs for Nedbank card division and include:
- financial information - turnover, balances, fees
- association reporting - how the products of MasterCard, American Express and Visa is performing
- portfolio management - detail pack of information that gives the product manager overview of how his portfolio is performing like new cards sold, performing accounts, closed accounts, rand bad, people bad.
- other institutes data - Cape Consumer, Stuttafords, Chartiss, SAA, Hub, Old Mutual, Ackermans, Go Banking (PnP), Pre-Paid cards.
- working out the market split of visa/mastercard in comparison with other financial associations
- splitting of monthly new credit card sales between different channels - branch, internet and direct marketing
- pull data for SMS acquisition campaigns
- look for abnomolies in data and prepare trend analysis data and understand where company can increase sales
- investigate easier ways of sending data or creation of management packs
- train and assist new staff members that join our team on definitions and ways of pulling data and where to find data in warehouse
- write scripts using SQL to pull data from warehouse for data requests and/or data investigations

A typical day for me I need to plan and prioritise what’s important and urgent on my desk, to interact with internal and external clients. Most importantly to be able to have excellent time management and the ability to solve problems.
My current portfolio is mainly focused on residential developments so I have gained exceptional knowledge regarding the business.
Management serves as a support structure to the subordinates, we expected to work as independently as we can on performing our day to day tasks. Most of our work requires approval by management such as payments to be released and drafted legal documents to be checked and signed by management.
Co-workers, we required to work closely as team members, we have a buddy systems in place. We individually manager our own portfolios but we work closely together as buddies and through this we build strong teamwork and relationships.
Hardest part of my job is working hard on something and due to internal hurdles I cannot deliver service to my clients.
We have flexi hours - start work early leave early or start work late and leave late. I start work at 9 and work till late. I cannot leave my desk until I'm happy that all that I needed to do is done. This allows me to plan around my 'work life balance" I get to spend the mornings with my family and see my child school and when I get to work I can work until required to. For me it works out. We also have a lot of social events so we work hard and play hard!

First thing in the morning I work on my excess report, distribute work to the relationship managers and request feedback where necessary. Thereafter I tackle the facility reviews and attend to any other work that comes through. Work on reports as well.
I spent most of my working life at Nedbank, where I learnt how to deal with customers and provide world class customer service to both internal and external customers. I also learnt how to deal with diverse people with their different characteristics. I have learnt to take ownership of everything I do, be it my daily resposibilities or a call from a customer who needed help. I have also learnt the value of networking and have acquired great networking skills at Nedbank.
My co-workers are a diverse people who possess great skills that also help me in achieving the objectives of the business. I look to them for support in achieving team work and i support them with their workload whenever I can, ideas and moral support.
The hardest part of my job is making the decision to take legal action against a customer because of the human element that is involved.
The most enjoyable part of my job is risk assessment and management to help the business mitigate it's risk exposure. I have come to love interacting with people, assisting them with their queries and working with a diverse group people.

Its took 3 months, 1 i applied did the interview and assessment. I submitted a backgroung check consent form and checks were conducted. Second month it was quite and on the 3rd month i did a follow up to my suprise that my application was unsuccessful.
