Lancet is a competitive CC that is ISO/ SANAS and ASISA accredited
I have been with Lancet for almost 10yrs and in this 10yrs I have worked with amazing Team of people within different Dept who have helped improve and enhance my career and knowledge. The best being within my current Dept and positiion, I have done things I never believed I was capable of. Managing a Team of 16 Staff, implementing processess, influencing the structure and business.
I have travelled to different provinces within SA to train and educate Staff members and Clients about Lancet as a business and to be part of such a dynamic Team of individuals and see the Dept. I work in grow to reach a target of over 30million monthly in the name of dedication and passion has been an adrenalin process which I will cherish always. However now that I'm in a seniour position Admin Supervisor there's no step to climb within the next 10yrs. I feel with my knoweldge of Insurance business; Admin processess and the know how of the medical industry I can grow even further outside this organization
The hardest is always getting the Staff's buy in with new processess or systems but once they are in we have excelled in various ways within the Section; Dept and the Company at large!
ProsOpen door policy - allows one to express themselves and grow
ConsFlexible and long hrs because one has to be available where and when needed

Organised and precise working environments
In my time at lancet I learnt a great deal regarding the day to day activites of an administrator as well as the care and detail needed. In both administrative tasks as well as information going to and coming from the laboratory head-office.
Adminsitrative and nursing staff had a good working relationship as there was always a transfer of information between the two groups. Management gave each person responsibilites and this was a great learning experience as it taught us to work independently when needed and gave the employees and opportunity to problem-solve.
The hardest part of the job was the transport as workign hours were conducted in shifts as it was absolutely necessary for one to have their own transport. At the time, I didn't have reliable transport and that was a challenge.
The most enjoyable part of the job was that everyday we learnt something new and everyday we were given the opportunity to help people, we may have not been doctors or nurses but the support staff, the administrators and administrators did their part too.
Prosbenefits(medical aid, etc) & discounted meals
Conslate shifts, and sunday shifts

Productive workplace
.A typical day at work is a busy day where everyone is working towards achieving the best turn around time for results and keeping the doctors and patients happy.
.I learned to put a smile on my face no matter how hard the day maybe for my patients to feel comfortable with me when I'm doing a procedure and not to take a decision before knowing the facts.
.The management is like any other companies, they have a listening ear to personal and work problems and can offer advise if you ask.
.My co-workers and I worked as a team helping each other when the other is not managing. Our relationship was a friendly one full of laughter and jokes.
.The hardest part of the job was when I had to take blood from a patient with very difficult veins and the patient has been pricked many times before that he\she is not willing to be pricked anymore.
.The most enjoyable part of the job was when I meet patients who understood the importance of doing the procedure and willing to help, and when the patients complements the way we do our job.
Prosmedical aid allowance, tea allowance and money for chritmas party.
Cons40% martenity benefit and contract.

Had great times and went through learning curves at Lancet.
1. Typical Day at work, Extremely busy workflow with a very specific turn around time. Working Night Shift I had to adapt to making all decisions on my own as well as satisfying difficult Doctors and Clients.
2. What I have learned so far is to make tough decisions on my own and being a team leader more than a boss. Thrive under severe work pressure and achieving deadlines before time.
3. Management, I have learned to always respect management and Informing the Necessary people whenever major issues appear but also striving to become one myself cause of the qualities I see in myself.
4.I always get along extremely well with co-workers because I have excellent people skills.
5.The hardest part of the Job were the difficult clients and Keeping professional with clients.
6. Having those telephone calls where Clients would take us for a joke on our service. Best part of all having Mcdonalds at 04:00 am what a breakfast.

I had to be prepared for a very busy switchboard and have the patients to deal with difficult clients.
Looked forward to our fun Fridays and monthly performance coaching. My manger was very supportive and had an open door policy. The most enjoyable part of my job was working with people of different cultures and learning from them. There was a lot of variety in what I did each day supervising switchboard staff checking on the receptionist and taking over the courier department at night. My role in switchboard afforded me the opportunity to be a brand ambassador for the business as a first line of communication - a role which I carried out diligently and something of which I am very proud. Having spent a lifetime at Lancet and experienced its transformation, I appreciate the value that people, commitment, good values, ethics and relationship building contribute to the success of an organisation.
Prosall the fun Fridays

very productive and interesting job that is enjoyable to work with people
my typical day is one that sees to alot of unwell people and the service that I can provide them in order to get the best results for them in order to diagnose their problems as to what is wrong with them. What I have learned is that there is always someone else with a bigger problem than myself. Been caring and compassionate to someone can sometimes be the best medicine for someone other than medication. Laughter always makes someone feel good. I have always respected my superiors and look up to them for any kind of advise and morals. I have a very good relationship with my co-workers.Respect for each another has always been our best remedy to get our work done to the best of our ability. The hardest part of my job is seeing and caring for unwell patients. The most enjoyable part of my job is putting a smile on someones face.

Challenging to start with, with but change in management conflict arose
Very fun and challenging job initially, but with the arrival of a new manager, conflict arose which made my work-life very unpleasant.
A typical day at work would involve the dispatching and control of various drivers and fleet vehicles.
We were responsible for the collection of human specimens, and then delivery of such at various laboratory locations for the purpose of testing.
Initially management was very flexible but this changed with the arrival of a new manageress that was less so.
At first the workplace had a very good family feel, that also changed with the arrival of the new manageress.
My earnings were in excess of $35000 per annum.
The hardest part of the job was managing ever-changing traffic circumstances which would impact negatively on time sensitive deliveries and/or collections
