Productive, challenging , exciting and fun
A typical day for me woulod be to check emails, stock and engineers lists of clients for the day. Then see to all office mail, running of office and keeping it tidy. Also answering all calls, screening htem, taking messages and do folllows ups / call backs
I do work for multipule managers in the building as i'm always looking to asssit where needed, but only if my work is complete. This way i get to learn more about the business and other Business units withing our company.
I also assit with all interviews when taking on new staff, see to all existing staff members documentation and keep track of their performances and work attendance.
Most enjoyable part is when we have events planned and i get to not only assist in the planning of it but also get to go along on the day of the event. Events I did thus far is the Cape Town Jazz Festival, Cape Town Argus Cycle Tour, The JNB Met, Golf days also helped out with the presidential golf day, where I met most government officials.
I enjoy my job very much but I don't get paid for assisting other managers or the events that i help with. I dp it so that I can gain knowledge and I also feel that it is great exposure for me as everyone knows who I am and can rely on me when they need to "get the job done"
Prosfree lunches - good exposure to corporate world

Repressive unfair work environment
Being with the company and having seen the outright unlawful abuse of workers by management it is my opinion that EOH or at least their SAP Services department have some serious soul searching to do in respect with how they manage their employees and how they reward them for the work done. They do not pay overtime worked, they do not reimburse KM's to the client site, they have extraordinarily poor communication skills and seem to make it a habit to send junior/inexperienced employees in to a client site and pass them off as senior employees. This has led to more than one massive failure of projects and yet they continue to use these practices. They hire new people at ridiculous rates and fail to promote employees internally. Poor moral is the norm for employees and the fact that management bully them into working ridiculous hours and denying adequate compensation reflects both the lack of respect for employees and the company as a whole. In short, the SAP Services department is a toxic work environment which treat their consultants like slaves and mismanages them in the worst way.

No culture and toxic environment
I am an EOH employee based at a Vodacom in Midrand. The EOH management based at Vodacom offer no support to employees and do not recognise hard work. The environment is very toxic and anxiety levels are quite high often leading to staff experiencing panic attacks. EOH management do not care if you have a family responsibility or emergency, you are just expected to work as this is a consulting environment. There are no socials or any way of showing appreciation for hard work. Employees are expected to deliver without any support from management to remove impediments. Scrum principals are not followed and management will do anything to please the client at the expense of their staff. There is no culture or values in this environment and people are unhappy. The salary offered is quite attractive but that is about the only good thing about working here. Late night deployments happen weekly and you will have to work your hours around these deployments. Most of the Project Managers and Scrum Masters have little or no technical skills.
ProsGood Salary
ConsToxic environment, poor management, no socials, late night deployments

Productive and Learning more at workplace Environment
I've been on this industry for the past four years. Since i've joined this company i'm improving my work ability everyday and coping with the clients as is our first priority.i've learned to work on the different Windows server O.S and windows O.S 98,2000,XP SP1-SP2-SP3 and WIndows 7 professional,Ultimate and Enterprise. and also working on the different printers Like HP.LEXMARK,BROTHER and Konica Minolta mantaining and troubleshooting those machine on daily basis. The management they make sure that i understand whats the role and purpose i must play on this industry and make sure i understand why we are on the customers environment, why they said our clients is our number one priority. and based on the co-workers my mananger and my senior Engineer they know i'm playing a big part on this team since i've joined them from Torque I.T Training Academy because sometime they even left me to run this show.

I am a dedicated person who wants to have a secure employment with an enterprise that offers reliably positive atmosphere to learn new technologies and implement them for improvement of the business with enthusiasm and relentless hunger for acquiring new skills, willing to succeed even if it means putting extra effort, can work well with other people; Disciplined, assertive & not easily intimidated; Ability to communicate well; Possess good problem solving skills and Valid driver's license with good driving records.
When i am at work i learned a lot about batch files,C# and Java from my Superior and the hardest part of the job is when i am working with old pheripherals[Printers, scanners etc.] that does not have drivers disk and when i search online for the drivers with no success .The most enjoyable part of this job is that i learn something knew everyday and that makes me feel like an expert.

it was a productive and fun workplace
my typical day work was more of configuring Aruba AP's and doing reception task of welcoming guests and answering calls. however i learned many skills mostly time management and communication skills and how to set up Aruba AP's and WiFi. the workplace was a very good environment as people provided help where never on needs one, and everyone was so kind and welcoming in all fields. my hardest part of the job was configuring switches, i found it hard to familiarize myself with how the configuration was done and with the level of ethnology that was required. my most enjoyable part of my job was configuring the Aruba AP's and setting up WiFi settings for the Aruba AP's this indicated how WiFi is usually set on the Aruba AP's
Prosevery month there was a n work appreciation trophy, and free snacks and food
Conswe would go to work on weekends, and do stock taking in the warehouse.

productive environment
As a BI consultant, i am mostly faced with urgent issues e.g BOBJ webi reports not accessible due to error (javax.servlet.servletexception: java.lang.classformaterror: truncated class file ) most of the time which requires to be fixed urgently. user need to run month end reports. as a result i would learn few new tricks to solves certain issues. i worked closely with BASIS consultant , added admin rights privileges to TOMCAT and it solved the issue. My manager is able to create time to sit and understand my work. We meet at times with our clients and or as time sometimes. Sometimes to come up with quick solutions to urgent problems is a bit hard and getting a full and complete understanding of users request and specifications to build a successful implementation. Each time when the client says thank you.

Anything is possible
The most important thing is i have learned is that i can do anything given the time and resources.
A typical day would be when everything is stable, data flows are fine, users have their successfully updated reports in time.
Every day im learning new skills or techniques, as im working different consultants with different experiences and skill, above all i have learned that i can do anything given the time and resources.
Management, our work has been a success altogether through a good management.
Co-workers are amazing people i have worked with, the projects we have resolved as a team has been a success.
The hardest part would when i cannot meet deadlines to my clients due uncontrolled circumstances.
The most enjoyable part is nothing else but each time when a user or customer or client says, "i am happy thank you"

Training- Investec staff
I had to train 30 learners in system support NQF level 5 for a number of different clients. Most of the learners did not have the any background in support but main in administration e.g MS word, excel etc. I had to be strategic before I started training level 5 where I started everything for scratch as to what is hardware, software etc and by the end of the project most of learners could now configure ADDS, install application, design networks, implement security systems etc.
It was quite a good experience to actual develop an individual form scratch and I even received complements form clients expression the gratitude in a job well done
