My day will start off at 08:00 in the mornings where I would run through the sales reports and update the strat, sales, marketing and appointment boards. 
Planning for the day will be done according to the previous day’s results.
After my consultants arrive at work, I have a quick individual meeting in order to plan their day and what they need to achieve. I will also discuss anything that has gone wrong the previous day and work it into their planner.
I will then have a meeting with the club CGM in order to discuss the daily plan.
By 13:00 I will have an individual meeting with each consultant again in order to find out if they are on track for the day’s activities.
I will then search for new business opportunities and set up meetings for wellness days, promotional events and club activities.
My final meeting with my team will be done at 18:00 in order to make sure that the daily minimum performance criteria was done and completed and we are on strat with regards to sales.

I learned that you do not need to be a cold hearted manager in order to make your people perform. If you give them the training required and constant coaching and motivation, you will not only have a strong working force but a committed team who will go above and beyond for you as a manager.

I found that the management was not consistent with regards to communication.

I enjoyed the company of each and every one of my co-workers and build great and strong relationships with each of them.

The hardest part of the job is the fact that you cannot make someone sign a contract even though you need the sale. It takes time and complete honesty to ensure that your client will in fact come back to sign a contract. Clubs are too close to each other with different price points which influences your sales negatively.

The part I enjoyed most about my job was leading and motivating a team to the point that they completely believed in themselves. Taking integrity within my job and ensured that I built and maintained client relationships. Going on learning and development courses was something I always looked forward to.

always be in a good mood even if you are not,it is an exciting environment to be working inn,always something to do or to be done.i have learn t that not every one is the same and not everyone will be happy but you have to to do whats best in the interest of you environment and the safety of others.
management is always motivating its staff to do their best especially staff in sales and marketing.they ensure that every staff member follows the gym regulations and code of conduct that ensures the safety of its member's and the usage of its equipment.co workers are friendly non judgmental, as part of the gyms code of conduct,they take every matter and complaint seriously and follow up on any issue logged in my gym members.each member is a team member and have to help one another to keep the facility well maintained.the hardest part of this job is to ensure that every member is kept happy and going the extra mile to ensure it stays that way,ensuring the safety of other member's by making sure there are no objects or equipment in the way,all weights or equipment  are kept in their rightful place for the next member to use.the most enjoyable part is seeing members happy with the facility and that knowing that you are there for them in helping and assisting them in training and listening and advising them on issues with training and diets and also with personal matters.

Working at such a massive company is very challenging on its own. You get to deal with more then a thousand people per shift. Certain peak hours you work alone with these massive numbers of people training and seeking help and attention. Being confident and assuring the clients that you have everything under control is one of the hardest and challenging parts.
I have learned how to interact with different personalities, how approach people and make them feel comfortable when feeling scared and unsure of what to expect, how to persuade people and convince them that my method will help them improve there skills and reach there goals faster.
You work with an energetic group of staff members. Staff members  are always helpful and motivates you to be better everyday.They are fun to work with and very determined to reach company goals.
Probably the most challenging part of working in such a big company and the growing fitness industry, is giving the members and clients facts for advice and staying up do date with current trends and knowledge of the industry. That means that you are currently researching and trying new things.
Virgin active management strives for client satisfaction and sometimes forgets about the happiness of there own employees. I have a good understanding with the management and find them friendly and easy to approach and talk to. 
The most enjoyable part is working with a fun filled staff, helping clients achieve there goals and seeing a satisfied client leaving the gym one step closer to being healthy.

My day will always starts with complaints and broken machinery which is normal. After all the complaints and broken machines I will plan my day and set out the daily. Task for my team. I will have a chat with the other HOD's to make sure that they dont have any issues that needs urgent attention. In a environment like this in my experience listen to member complaints and then you give feedback with a plan of action to resolve the problem. Every morning when shift do all your daily checks and delegates tasks out to other team leaders. Before end of shift make sure that all task's is competed. We are a team so we have to communicate on a regular basis to ensure that the Gym operates 100 % smoothly. My hardest part if the job is when you deal with people who is unprofessional. When there is a problem, they don't sort it out with you they do things behind your back. When we gets visits from Head Office we have to rush everything off without planning because you get a day notice that tomorrow is the the but I'm good in working under pressure. The best part is when the visit is over and is was a success, it feels like a mountain has been removed from your back. That's the feeling of goal achievement and success. When your General Manager thanks you for the hard work and said you can have the weekend off, you can't help but keep on smiling and forget about work for the entire weekend .



Resolving Membership Issue
In 2022, a member contacted us about an issue with their membership. Despite canceling their membership, it remained active. The member had submitted a request on our website, but we hadn't received it due to lack of access.

Actions Taken
1. Logged a call with IT,I escalated the issue to our IT team to investigate the member's request.
2. Contacted the member ,I called the member back to inform them that we were working on resolving the issue and provided a timeline for resolution.
3. Resolved the issue,After confirming with IT, I canceled the membership and processed a refund.
4. Apologized and communicated*: I apologized to the member for the inconvenience and kept them informed throughout the process.

Outcome
The member was satisfied with the resolution, and their issue was resolved within 24 hours. The member was happy with the service they received, and we were able to retain them.

Working at Virgin Active is quite interesting, I meet new people on a daily basis. 
A typical day at work would be in Club V, entertaining and participating with kids, something I thoroughly enjoy. I have a passion for kids and I learn something new about each of them every day. 
Because I ocassionally help out at Reception or in the Administration offices, I have learned a lot. I know how to interact with people and to make sure that you are always polite, friendly and a very good listener. When helping out in Admin, I learned that you must be very trustwirthy as you work with money on a daily basis and you must also be fair to each and every person, making sure they are not short paid, etc. 
My co-workers are what make my day at work more interesting than it is, that is because we all share the same passion for kids and refuse to let anything in the way of that. we encourage each other, help when it's needed and ocassionally disagree merely to agree upon something better.
The hardes part of the job would be having to gain all that trust from these kids' parents, you must be able to prove that you are a person who would keep their kid out of harms way.
Being with these kids and all the friendly members' who visit the gym would always be one of the best parts of the job.

Monday is usually a report day, scores conglomerated after assessments & sent to the respective teams;
Departments are given a turnaround time to escalate review request. If this does not happen, scores are forwarded to Resource Planning, incentive allocation;
Wednesdays are calibration meetings days, to discuss scores, new methods etc;
What I have learnt is that one is strong and the team that he or she is in, and team work is important;
I have “inclusive management”, whereby I lead from the back and makes sure that everyone is involved as I deem them to be important. In this way, everyone’s strength is brought to the fore;
Hardest part of the job is when the colleagues do not buy the hard truth about the work and suggested methods;
Most enjoyable part is the satisfaction received when the scores and assessments are buoyant, professionalism is heightened and maintained this way.

Typical day would start at around 7 am - 8 pm.  There was absolutely no space for growth as a sales consultant other in the sales environment.

Staff seemed to get on exceptionally well but in sales it was difficult because of pressure to perform every day, all day between 6 - 7 days a week.

Sales staff were often divided and building relationships with staff was difficult because people left before they even made it to 6 weeks because of the pressure and demand of the job.

Hardest part of the job was standing on side of roads handing out flyers and performing on edge constantly, however the most enjoyable for me was going to wellness days where I met a lot of people, did needs analysis', made connections which I believed I would be able to connect with in other possible spheres of business.

I learnt how to sell and POPI Act was drummed into us, I learned to listen intensely to needs of clients and staff and hold my head up high despite the challenges.

Albeit a very challenging environment I definitely learnt a lot for which I am grateful.  This also most definitely refined me as a person.

My typical day at work, started with a sales team meeting. Discuss my plan for the day and explain the execution and the back up plan incase the plan does not go accordingly. After the meeting, I would go through my diary and start confirming my appointments for the day, follow up on call backs and get on with a call drive. A floor walk for referrals and flyer hand out at any busy place. I have learned to be resilient, to push myself to the limits and have respect for the workplace. I observed what the successful people did and incorporated it to my style. The management can be really hard at times but I guess that goes with the line of work, they want numbers.  But they were very supportive and concerned with ones home and children. I found them to be very empathetic. The work culture was fun and healthy. The hardest part about the job was/is the working hours, you simply cannot go home in peace if you do not have a proper set up for the following day. Some days you win and some days is just struggle. The most enjoyable part of the job was delivering the numbers, incentives and other benefits
