Exceptional Economics Tutor

I've had the pleasure of working with this economics tutor for several months, and I must say that they are exceptional. Their teaching style is clear, concise, and engaging, making complex economic concepts easy to understand.

What I've Learned

Thanks to this tutor, I've gained a deep understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. They've helped me to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which have been invaluable in my studies.

The Hardest Part of Economics Made Easy

One of the hardest parts of economics for me was understanding the concepts of opportunity cost and comparative advantage. However, this tutor broke down these concepts in a way that made them easy to understand, and now I feel confident in my ability to apply them.

- Committee management of the following University boards: Faculty Board of Science, Faculty Board of Management Sciences, Academic Committee, Broad Management Forum, 
  Convocation (occasional), Finance Committee, Student Services Council and the ICT Steering Committee:
	Sending meeting invites to committee members; arranging meetings; compiling and distributing agendas to committee members, attending meetings and taking minutes using shorthand; writing, editing and sending minutes to committee members, electronic and manual indexing, regular liaison with the Offices of the University Executive Management Committee (EMC): Vice-Chancellor, Deputy-Vice Chancellors, the Registrar (and Executive Deans as committee Chairpersons); regular liaison with the Faculty Administrators and Secretaries of committee Chairpersons; liaison with the Student Representative Council (SRC) on student related matters; sending memo's and reports via institution’s postal services and intranet; compiling and sending reports to Management and the Senate; arranging departmental projects and events (e.g. farewell functions, year-end functions, birthday celebrations).
-	Compiling the Senate agenda, assist in the drafting of the University Calendar and training new Committee Administrators. 

The most challenging part is when students strike. The most enjoyable part is sitting in Executive Management meetings.

Typical work day at work was all about to answer the phone call and to make the phone call as well, using all communication chaneel to communicte with customers such as telephone, E-mail adress, SMS and other communications channels to reach the student and inform them about gradution at Tshwane University of Technology. As an employee I learned to control depression, stress and confussion in the workplace. The management of the organisation it was runiing everything smooth becuase we use to work according to the schedule and it was appreciating the work after. As an employees of organisation we were family we were helping each other to make sure that the organisation goal and objective its acheived at the end, we were using team work most of the time. The hardest part of the job was when some customers get angry and speak loud in the phone and it was one of problem but however it was easy to solve such problem becuase we were trained enough. The most enjoyable time is when the management schedule task for us and we must complite the task therefore it was interesting becuase at the end of the day we get reward and speech of recognation after done the quality tast.

A typical day includes picking up daily logged request and incidents,calling clients and locating their area of problems,providing 1stline support,thn secondline support.

I have learn to be calm,attantive, having to be efficient under pressure and always be proffesional,effectively communicating with a client aswell as to always try to resolve incidents within a resolution time.

I am in a encouraging enviroment,the management is open for support ,allow staff to work according to their strength in ensuring a good service and my co wokers are supportive and we communicate easily.

a hardest day at work includes dealing with impetient clients,clients putting blame on the technicians for task not completed,having too many request to attend to in a short space of time.

most enjoyable day at work is when I am able to meet my daily task, when I am able to teach a fellow worker or when I have learned something new on the  day and when together as the service desk team, we have accomplished a particular challenging task and it is congradulations all round. 

A typical day at work normally started at 08:300 am. Depending on whether i was coordinating a module. I would have a meeting with the facilitators and students. Throughout my time at TUT, I learned and learned a lot. My time management has greatly improved. I have learned and improved a lot as a team player. The fact that I am working with students from different cultural, religious and economic backgrounds has also greatly improved my interpersonal relationships. Having to deal with student marks  has greatly turned me into a responsible and competent person. 
Te staff at TUT are very friendly and we embrace and celebrate development of fellow staff members. Staff meetings are regularly held to assess progress. 
Despite the environment being friendly, the hardest part of the job has been preparing module descriptors and sometimes preparing final student marks considering that we use the continuous assessment system. 
Seeing students progressing and obtaining knowledge on a daily basis is one of the most enjoyable part of the job.

my day is full of challenges, I have to always respect the students ,colleagues ,support services and academic departments, I am very helpful and assist all stake holders of the university with a smile.
I have learned that empathy and respect to the students is fundamental. The first year students needs understanding and encouragement.
management that takes care of their employees get the desired end results in terms of commitment and service to the most important person in our environment which is a student .
I like working in a team that is positive and very articulate ,helpful and enthusiastic ,and I am blessed to have such people in this environment.
saying no to the students because of the rules an regulations.
getting gratitude from all the student I come into contact with, knowing that academic departments relies on me for administration duties which I do to the best of my abilities

Typical day includes attending meeting;
I have learnt not to be emotional, but look at facts and act within the ambit of the university policies;
Co-workers personalities differ, and blanket leadership approach won't be applicable. The first two months in the job, I interviewed all the staff members. Through interviews these themes emerged: culture of oneness or unit; manager who cares; treat employees with respect; give knowledge workers leeway to express their views and talents; and diversity. 
Hardest part of job is balancing the needs of knowledge workers, because some of them know more than I know. Also, dealing with militant and radical student representatives. 
The most enjoyable part of the work, is going oversees to present a paper at a conferences, and when the a master's student has declared competent by external assessor.

Each day at work came with its own challenges in varied fashions, from micro to macro but with patience and tolerance, there was always a success. I learnt a lot about handling different personalities with different tools in order to make life easy and enjoyable for all. Management was super due to corporation from all staff members and student leaders. Communication and regular meetings to discuss professional issues and education were the tools for the smooth running of the department. There were very few hard parts of the job because one had to use his mind in most instances and make fair judgment on issues, although travelling was very frequent and tiredness sets in at some stages. The most enjoyable part was the presence of all staff members on projects assigned to one or a group.

I have learned excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to analyse problems and devise solutions, assertiveness in dealing with pupils and fellow professionals,determination to see problems and solutions through to the end, i have gained the ability to empathise a non-judgemental approach, i have also learned how to   manage my time, i have gained the ability to relate to young people and adults, the capacity to motivate and act as a role model. I am now flexible and know how to adapt and work well under pressure. I have good report writing skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and an understanding of confidentiality and the handling of sensitive information.
I work with the best team ever, we assist each other academically and guide each other about life in general. I enjoy every single day of my working days, because this gives me time to study myself and get to know new people.

Hectic from the moment you open your emails, but manageable. The one thing I learnt about management is that, leadership is not a position, but and attitude. Secondly, take constructive criticism seriously.
Unfortunately, people often criticize others for the purpose of ridiculing or irritating them.Constructive criticism provides the  manager with a clear understanding of areas where improvements can be made to benefit both self and other.
With my co-workers; team work, communication and managing and understanding person's character is very important. This enables healthy working relations and managing task effectively and efficiently.
My hardest part of the job is working with Professors that don't understand  deadlines.
The most  enjoyable part of the job is always learning something new from the innovations/inventions  that come out from our institution.
