A typical day at work involved planning on how product will be moved from point A to point B in the most cost effective way to ensure that economic value is maximized for the company on that particular trade.

This would include, finding appropriate transporters, clearing agents and inspectors in various countries, ensuring that subcontractors are paid, invoicing customers for services rendered and product provided.

The most challenging part of the job was unreliable communication in certain countries in Africa (Bad telephone network), bad roads and delays at the borders.

I learned how to work within a budget and enhanced my skill of dealing with pressure.

The most enjoyable part of the job was been able to see the improvements in the supply chain from the time I started and been able to quantify the impact of my work to the bottom line of the company.

I got job satisfaction by knowing the commercial value I added to my company.

* Work start at 9h00 and end at 18h00 with one hour lunch time that is taken between 12h00 and 14h00.
* I've learnt to incorporate company and got to the use of Video conference at workplace.
* Management has high sense of delegation of responsibility. No micro management when good reports are produced.
* Co-workers are from difference races and different locations; Angola, South Africa, Switzerland, Singapore and Colombia. This gives a very good exposure.
* Investigating wrong transaction and coming with findings on time, in respect of deadlines.
* Having a successful meeting with management where all the figures tie up.

A lot of work but you learn a lot doing it. It is expected as it is the second largest commodity trading company in the world, attention to detail is non-negotiable. Co-workers were very helpful. Most enjoyable part was dealing with all the international suppliers, they were shed a lot of light on their business which in turn gave me a better understanding of how business was run.

I always learn something new everyday and although the workload is intense but being able to work under pressure allowed me to grow in a different aspect. 

Co-workers were very helpful and supportive people, the hardest part of the job was to try and remember the vast amount of information. I enjoyed Trafigura as it really gives one the perspective of how the real corporate world really works.

Global reach of the commodity trading environment, the differentiation among the different countries. The differentiation is around language, culture and business operating environment.

Co-workers have wide interests, which enables good discussions on topics of mutual interests.

I enjoyed working to Puma but job security is very difficult, there were many office politics thus being the reason i left. Salaries are good and they offer full medical aid for yourself and dependents. Lots of travel as this is a international company
