TRADEPORT DISTRIBUTION

My typical day at work is an early morning cup of coffee getting ready to process daily casual wages, I am currently working with a very strong administrative HR team. I have accquired good organisational skills as it is a field that I havent worked with previously. It's very exciting, also very challenging you got to be very professional and very discreet because it's a very confidential department. I love working within an HR Department because it has broaden my knowledge in terms of dealing with employment and daily issues people face and how to react and help the employees as well as how to advise them and help them. Very exciting because lots of opportunities to grow within the field.

The first of its kind in South Africa, Tradeport Distribution comprises of a group of 16 companies, existing now for 12 years or so, a major distribution supply chain. I manage the complete Debtors book for the group, reporting to the directors with regards to month end packs, developments, staff issues, changes and their implementation, coaching, training and motivation of staff.

I have excellent subordinates who have grown to love and respect me, and my management style. I inculcate a philosophy of 'work with me not for me'

Hardest part of the job - trying to manage conflict with despatch and logistics. Phew!!

Giving life lessons to my staff has to be the most rewarding part of my job.

We Schedule day accordingly. Plan trip , calculate Time it and distance to customers.Day is stressful Because you have to make  deliveries to all customers, but time is never enough as trips  are too far apart and if have to reach before Shop closed. I've learnt to be cotious when driving and to Always communicate well with customers and people around me. Manage to deliver all stock and bring return. Deliver to customers and be on lookout of danger around me , make  sure cash, stock  correspond with invoices. Hardest part is when the stock I deliver has reached expire day and realise when I'm by the customer and also getting robbed for cash.

I've really enjoyed my experience working with this company so far. It's a fun and great place to be, with a positive work environment that makes coming to work each day a pleasure. Although I faced some challenges with staff transport and had to navigate some logistical limitations, the overall experience has been good. Despite the occasional hiccup, I've found that the company culture and my colleagues have made it a great place to work. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow and contribute to the team. The company's values and mission resonate with me, and I feel like I'm part of something meaningful.

What is the best part of working at the company?
None the treatmen was not perfecy and the salary was vry bad

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Finishing orders from other staff members and being blamed for taking long while the order was not meant for you

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Indians and muslims doing their thing while the zulus are treated like trash

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It feels like you are in jail serving sentence for the crime you did not  even commit

Perfect place to get starting experience and learn more about the corporate industries.Flexy Hours. We were responsible for handling the Occourance Books,Posting Security and even handling troubleshooting for NVR And DVR Systems which handle the cameras around the premises.Hardest Part Was when switches used to goes un under maintainence and were needed for setting up scheduled backups.

A very good day at work. It was a very pleasant place to work. Good staff. Started off as a receptionist and from there I put into the creditors department to start work with GRVs and from there I worked with IBTaccounts and single accounts. The management was ok. We had a deadline to meet every month and that was a challenge for the staff.

Being Group HR Officer for the Ohlanga / Tradeport Group with a staff compliment of approximately 3600 employee's has basically inspired me to interact with different people , understand them , and most importantly to bring myself down to another persons understanding.

Productive, encourage, team work,bonuses when it's in its needed time. 
The boss are good and encourage the workers to work in safe conditions and safety as they hire a professional experts to teach the workers for a long period of time.

08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and  08:00 to 13:00 on Saturdae working in creditors department .Capturing of invoices to be paid on the system so that we can keep track of what paid and what not when comes to the entire company expenses
