A typical day at work would start off with a lot of energy and view of the targets set for the day both for the team as well as individual targets set by myself and as outlined on my job description.
Every day is a new day and each day comes with brand new opportunities, experiences and lessons. It is important to reflect on these three areas at the end of each day no matter how long or hard the day may have been; take 10mins at the end of the each working day and as a team and again on my own reflect on the day. This brings new ideas to the team, stronger work ethics and morale begins within the group and higher goals are then set by the team for greater rewards at the end of each Campaign or Month end. 

Most of our time is spent at work with our collegues, creating a culture where work feels like home should be each team members primary purpose or job function. Once the environment and the work space has strong team spirit and high levels of outstanding but also fun work ethics and standards; the rest is easily achieveable simply because each staff member wants to be at work every day and each staff member loves their job and the company whom they are employed by and also more importantly they look forward to showing up everyday to work with people they call their work family and not just their colleagues.

The hardest part of any job is trying to stay on par with your targets and up to date with the workload and then of course having to deal with difficult clients which most commonly happens on those off days where very little seems to be going as planned or anticipated. The key is to  persevere and always do the best you can no matter how hard the day or the situation or work load seems. It is always worth the reward at the end which is probably the most enjoyable part of any job. At the end of a hard and hectic busy month, having met all targets set out and meeting all quality assurance criteria to measure the quality of the job done; the employer benefits as customers are happy and the service is appreciated. In turn the company rewards the hard workers and the teams who do more than just what is expected of them at all times to always deliver outstanding service in all areas of business. Nothing quite beats that feeling of self achievement of hard work with extra effort from each member in the team and being provided with the results thereof. Achievement, a sense of accomplishment and great pride in how we as a team work together and take our company to greater heights just by loving what we do and giving it our very best each and every day.

The organisation is massive, with over 40 000 employees.  Even IT as a department is huge.  We have strong leadership with vision and ambitious goals.  It's exiting to be part exciting Strategies and goals, but could also feel a bit change fatigued when continous change occurs.  There are always lots of opportunities as the organisation is huge and diverse with multiple career paths in the organisation but in saying that it's also challenging to be "promoted" as roles and structures change often.

Depending on the project investigation you are busy with. on an easy day, 8 hours is possible. On a complicated investigation, weekends will be part of work. Corporate sector is too different to public sector. Management style vary and change is happening annually. 99% of co-workes great bunch to work with.

Travelling for investigators can be hectic as the area of investigation include Free State and some parts of Northen Cape. And all that route is travelled by car from East London. When there are less cases and there is time to complete my UNISA assignments.

The environment was quite toxic and the management is far removed from the department to be supportive. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic environment. management is not part of the daily operations and accordingly cannot assist with any tasks or support when matters are referred. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The workload was of such a nature that your day started at 5 am and ended at 11 pm

A work place filled with responsibilities, alot of pressure in terms of dealines. Supportive & dedicate management. Methods implemented to improve process, cut cost & develop solutions. As with most working environments, it's cut throat so you have to be firm but friendly. The employees are mature individuals who are co-operative & always willing to assist. Furthermore, my colleagues are easy to approach, well mannered & focused on the goal.

Having worked at Standard Bank for all of my professional life, I am bound to be bias.

As the company is a banking giant, there is great learning and knowledge to be gained. It is indeed a good place to work, the culture and work ethic is good. The benefits are biggest attraction.

The management in general can be better, however there are some very good and visionary leaders within the ranks. 

The bank could also put in a greater effort to hold on to its more productive staff.

Overall, good company and place to work.

I didn't really have a good environment working there but the company is the best decision you can possibility make

A typical day is making the deposits , and making changes for customers

I deal with internal clients from Standard Bank business Unites and external clients outside the bank regarding Messaging business.

We enable messages and assist you to create messaging,m looking at the content of message, this is for Email, SMS and MMS, together with Push Notifications

This is fun but messaging is a key to great communication

I started off my corporate career at Standard Bank. The Bank gave me opportunitues to grow and develop not only my skills but my leadership experience and growth as a person. I had the privilege to work with professional and talented people within the Group. I was given the opportunity to travel to the rest of Africa and UK which opened up my eyes to diverse cultures and people
