While working daily in the holidays i would often meet new people through working, out of ten customers atleast four would tell me i should keep up the good work and the friendship between waitrons was good, this has made me easily approachable
People skills which are essential to promoting a service or product has become easier as it was something management demanded from each waitron. stress management is another skill I've learnt since customers may get rough we had to keep the situation under control or we would pay for for any complaint created responsibility for me as the customer should stay happy.
management was strict and well organised to the laws of the business, never had much respect for staff and was always tough on waitrons, they said they did this to strengthen us to work well.
the co-workers were always enableing the way of working as a team and always been around to help one another.
The hardest part of the job was to gain free time. being a waitron requires constant moving and invisible competition amongst co-workers. This was difficult since there is friendship, because it was a must to tell management about the staffs actions which affect you and the business.
What i enjoyed about working as a waitron most was interacting with a variety of people and adapting to their ways, this had become a joy for me since they find joy in being served by me. their gratituities usually show you how much they enjoyed themselves.

I start by opening the store, doing the checks in the shop, making sure that the section I work in is running smoothly. Opening the section, filling stock if needed in specific sections. Checking that the staff arrive in that section on time. Checking that any information left from the previous manger is done i.e R & M, Out of stock items and any problems with the staff ie. staff misbehave or do not follow the rules. I am in charge of disciplinary and also all hiring and CCMA cases. I deal with hiring and training of staff and managers. Then also update shifts and handling of complaints on the floor if there is any -the quality of the food and the order. If in the front of house I also do cash ups and and closing of the store. The most enjoyable part is dealing with all the different situations in the industry and always having satisfied customers. The hardest part in the job is making sure that the food cost stays at the right percentage and also the controlling of stock . My co-workers are all different and they are hard working and some that are not following a efficient work ethic. The right motivation is some times needed to get them working. I have learned a great deal from this Franchise ranging from managing of staff to handling of complaints to food cost and even stock orders.

I always started work earlier as expected as I find I can get more done. I will rather be early than late. I have learned to delegate where I can and what people can do. I believe the more you organise the start of your day the more you are able to achieve by the end of the day. I like working with people as you as manager has to get to know your employees and what you can expect from each and how you can help each of them grow to their full potential by showing them what your goals are and helping them plan their own and getting to achieve them via hard work. I never find my work to be hard but challenging to achieve goals but the biggest reward are being able to achieve those goals and setting the bar each day higher for oneself. At the end of the day having the customers walk out with a smile and greeting you with the hand is the greatest accomplishment. The way one build up oneself in the community in that way that your business are not only frequented because of the brand but because of the person behind the brand. 

Working at spur is not a job for the feint-hearted, it is a highly stressful occupation that will leave you tired, hungry and restless for a long time. I was underpaid monthly, ill treated by management and disrespected by customers.

Being a waiter is one of thee most stressful jobs in the world, we made our living serving people that gave us a less than 2% tip on more than 50% of there bills, thinking that they are doing us a favor by giving us a R2 tip, not realizing that we earn below minimum wage, relying heavily on the tips we make.

Add working as a waiter in spur, and you will get even less respect, not only from the customers, but from the management staff aswell. Hours were cut, salaries weren't adding up, money was going missing ( which the waiters had to pay back ) unexplained deductions on our paychecks.. the list goes on. 

But, the best part of working at spur, was the way the waiters stood together. each waiter, weather it be from the same restaurant or a restaurant on the other side of the country, had the same respect for one another. It was a mutual "I know what you're going through" situation.

ive learnt a lot about myself getting to know people and workig with them and how to overcome circumstances that may come while im at work because we came across different people and i have gained confident a lot of it i must say and how to communicate with others and customers,i realy enjoyed myself during the day even if i had problems at home at work they will all go away and we worked long hour standing moving around left and right there is no time to chat to your fellows as waiter,and the hardest part of the job i could say was to alwys treat the customers with respect while they dont give it bck to youand the most enjoyable part was to welcome the people serving them with you smile then if your smile convinced them enough to give yu a tip then you will get one  but then i had to go back to school cant be a waiter all my life i also have plans for myself and my future

START WITH A VIBE MEETING FOR THE SHIFT THEN ON THE FLOOR SERVING CUSTOMERS WITH SALES AND ORDERS MAKING MONEY WHEN SHIFT FINNESHED TO START CLEANING OF SECTIONS AND GOING HOME. I LEARNED TO SELL BETTER WITH HELPFULL TECHNIQUES, TO SERVE, INTERACT WITH EXELLENT CUSTOMER SKILLS. MANAGEMENT ARE SOMETIMES UNFAIR WITH JUDGEMENT AND GIVE THE WAITRONS ALOT OF STRESS BUT JUST DOING THEIR JOB. CO WORKERS LIKE A BIG FAMILY FRIENDLY AND WORKING TOGETHER. HARDEST PART OF THE JOB IS TRYING NOT TO MAKE A MISTAKE WITH ORDERS OR ANY OTHER MISTAKE FOR PUNNISHABLE CONCEQUENCES. THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF THE JOB IS GOING HOME WITH A WELL EARNED AND GOOD DAYS TIPS.

Shift starts at a sprint and does not let up until you have cashed up for the night.

Learnt to the art of multitasking under immense pressure.

Certain Managers are born leaders while others should never be allowed a position of power. 

Co-workers will respect you if you respect them and take the time to get to know them and understand multiple cultures.

Hardest part of my job:  is to walk away from potential conflict often stepping back when you are obviously taking the fall for someone else's mistakes.

Most enjoyable part of my job:  Dealing with a multitude of difference types of people, personalities and cultures, customers, staff and management alike.

My work starts at 17h00 and 22h30
At spur, I learnt any things in customer service delivery and communication.

Some of the manager are easy to work with and others are not, but it is part of many working places.
My coworkers are a good team in which i feel comfortable to work with. However, the work environment doesn't allow me to fulfill my desire to learn more and grow in knowledge.

My hardest part of the job is the busiest day of the week, normally Friday when I finish to attend to one call and after 2 seconds, another one rings before I even serve the previous one.

The most enjoyable part is when, while working i get chance to make few jokes with my fellow workers and share a laughter

I enjoy working at the Spur franchise but would like to take my expertise to another company for a better future. I have a good relationship with my work colleagues. I always try to create a good vibe in the morning for the waiters so that the rest of the day runs happily. The hardest part of my job is having to deal with my senior manager as he has an agressive management style whereas most of us have an assertive management style. The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with my customers and making their lasting expression memorable.

on Sunday its was very hard to work becouse the shop was always quite, i learned that not every days are the same at work you have to move with flow and i learn that you working with different kind of people. management was very good not even a day where I can say they fail to do there job. one thing I liked when I was at spur I learned to work as team that very important its keeps the good work of the company. the hardest part of that job when it really full in the shop where you cant handle customers and the part I used to enjoy when I give my customesr a good  service when I look at them every table is enjoying the service and customers are happy
