A typical day involves preparing and delivering lessons or workshops, supporting Students (who are employees) one-on-one  and completing administrative tasks like marking assessments, tracking progress and updating reports. I also meet with colleagues to discuss learner development and coordinate support strategies.

What I believe I learned
I have gained strong communication and facilitation skills, along with deeper patience and adaptability when working with Students of varying abilities. I also learned to use different digital tools effectively to create engaging and inclusive learning environments. Most importantly, I developed a better understanding of how to personalize education to meet individual needs.

Management
Management is generally supportive and encourages ongoing professional development. Clear expectations are set, and feedback is constructive. While workloads can be demanding, managers are open to collaboration and discussion when challenges arise.

Workplace culture
The workplace culture is Student focused, collaborative and committed to growth. Colleagues are approachable and willing to share resources or advice. There is a strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose, which helps create a positive learning atmosphere.

The hardest part of the job
One of the hardest parts is keeping Students consistently motivated, especially when the content feels challenging or when they are balancing work, personal issues or low confidence. It takes creativity and patience to adapt lessons on the spot, find new ways to engage them and maintain momentum throughout the learning journey.

The most enjoyable part of the job
Seeing a Students grow in confidence and reach their goals is the most rewarding part. Whether it is passing  their Exams,  or simply grasping a concept they struggled with before ,those moments make the work deeply meaningful.

A typical day at work is relaxed, the work we have to do is do-able :). We work from home and able to make targets easily. We have no micro - management. We are trusted to do the work before us with no one over your shoulder constantly. We adapt accordingly as things changes and although we work from home, we come together for office drives and functions, and it is always great fun.

Platinum Life paid for my MBA - they took care of me during that time to study. I learned so much during that especially how to deal with clients, We, did a lot of courses on how to manage stress and anxiety and how to constantly improve our game. The management will ensure you have the roper skills needed before you do your job and there is constant on the job training for newbies.

Our culture is one of an open-door policy - you can reach you manager or management team at any time, with any problem. Management really focuses on you as an individual and they really make sure you are ok, and your family is fine. They really work with human beings, and you are not just a number. You never have to ever fear picking up the phone up to tell your manager that there's something wrong.

The hardest part is having the discipline to work on your own sometimes. The best part is you are making a difference in someone's lives. We never know if tomorrow the client we speak to will be paid out,

If there is a way to describe Platinum Life - it has changed my life, my kids have been on more holidays than they could have ever imagined. They live a truly amazing lifestyle - and for me I have never cried because of any management or work but only tears of happiness because money is great, and you get to work with someone of the most amazing human beings that truly become part of your family.

I can say from the top down even the big bosses are a call away willing to help with any issue. Anyone who work here is truly blessed as your life is molded with truly phenomenal people.




I've worked at the company for several years and can describe it as a structured environment with clear processes and expectations. The culture emphasizes integrity, being proactive, delivering results and taking ownership. Employees are encouraged to solve problems independently, work well in teams, and focus on self-development. Initiative and resilience are highly valued here.

One of the most challenging aspects of the job, is the high level of mental resilience it requires. The pace and pressure are intense, but that also makes the experience rewarding. You learn to be resilient, adaptable, and focused - skills that stay with you for life.

Management is generally approachable, and communication is professional. While the company does offer training and promotes accountability, opportunities for advancement can feel limited depending on the role and department.

Compensation is fair at entry level, but it's worth noting that I have had no salary increases in quite some years. While the starting salary is above market-related, the lack of adjustments over time can make it feel less equitable as job responsibilities grow and the cost of living rises.

Overall, Platinum Life is a solid place for someone looking to gain structure, build discipline, develop professional skills, and work in a value-driven culture. It's not without its challenges, but I feel privileged to be part of the team and contribute to the company's mission.

Integrity is central to the company and my team. The company is very transparent about it's values and operates strictly within those values. There is a general culture of caring, enlightening and inspiring. I value the amount of giving back to CHOC and other charities. I work with leaders who lead by example, have my best interests at heart and encourage me to grow. My role has grown as I have made use of the development opportunities offered and I get to play an active role in selecting the direction of my growth. My team is a group of driven self-starters who are also amazing at synergizing, real people-people. There are various different interests and areas of strength in my team and I appreciate how we support each other in that. There is a fair amount of administration in my role and it requires excellence, that can be pretty tough if you are not quality inclined. I have learnt to be goal orientated and both results- and person-driven (people orientated). I get to share my passion with people every day, see them grow and learn from them.

The company works at full time from start to end. They demand that reports are given to team leaders daily. The management handles all administrational work. The work is under full pressure. There is a demand for results on time. If you do not meet the results required within three months, staff get fired. The handle the letting go of staff very harshly as they need results to be driven. Staff feel under pressure of losing the work daily because of results. The work is mainly desk operated. There is very little time to communicate. It is a single based desk operated area. Team leaders expect a lot results. They push motivation on a daily basis. Approach to work is very focused. The staff of department normally provide all the results needed on a daily basis. There is updates of progress that gets put on display. Team leaders are very comfortable in relaxing their team when the work is under pressure. They provide a lot of get togethers. The company supports all staff. They are very closely linked with staffs private lives. They require needs to be met. Management works privately and team leaders only get to communicate with management.

I have been employed at Platinum Life for quite some time now and all I can say is WOW! After previously working in face-to-face sales and retail, coming into a nice air-conditioned office and being able to sit down and call people for a living is a really easy way to make money as not only is the job super easy but you also don't have to worry about social anxiety from speaking face-to-face with someone and you never take your work home with you. This accompanied with a fantastic management team who always looks to improve the ease of our work and always looks at new ways to make things fun and of course, a FREE LUNCH everyday makes it hard not to fall in love with working here. 
Although work is made to be fun and vibey the job title and possibility of promotion is no joke and so these are some of the reasons I have found Platinum Life to be a great way to climb my way up the corporate ladder. The only warning I must give is be careful because you might never want to leave!

Applied for part time student job only to realise it's the opposite. As a student, it's extremely difficult to maintain a work/study/personal life balance. You are told that it's your fault (as a trainee) if you're not getting "green stats" (getting the personal information from the person on the phone, such as IDs and accounts details). Of course people won't willingly give it. 

During my 1st training week we were told that we need to make a target of 70 to get accepted and that deductions won't count towards our pay for our training. Only to be told in our second week of training that we need more than just 70 targets to get accepted and that our pay will be deducted from. The pay you get for finishing training with out achieving target is +- R1000, because it's based on the deductions. And for achieving target it's +- R2000, based on deductions.

Like I said, it's completely unreasonable for a part time STUDENT JOB. The only thing that's beneficial is the skills you're learning during training for data capturing. 

my day to day main objective was closing sales deals over the phone and maintaining good customer relationships. It was very sales target driven and I earned purely on commission so my days were quiet stressful at time. I learned tp produce results under pressure and a lot about how to handle myself professionally on the phone at all times with all clients. the hardest part of my job was the rejection that generally comes with sales and those times when i missed my monthly target by an inch. I enjoyed engaging different types of people and helping them create that safety net for themselves for the future all in the while building relationships with my clients. the work space itself was warm and inviting and I always felt at home. We did quiet a bit of team building and motivational talks those kept me going at hard times. It was always team orientated and goal driven and I was able to buy my first car because the leadership was always pushing me.

A typical day at work, was getting coffee upon arrival and greeting the entire office before closing in on your own cubicle of work.  
I have learned how the basic corporative environment operates in the day to day life and I gained skills I never knew I could have, like keeping calm under unimaginable stress, for instance! 
I had and still have great respect for the management of Platinum Life, as they put effort into each and every single employee.  They were mentors to me, not only on occupational level.  
The most enjoyable part of the job, was probably my co-workers and the fact that I did not feel like a third year student when I walked in the office.  The atmosphere was almost perfect!  
Despite all the great aspects of Platinum Life, the actual deed of doing the same work every day, repeating the same set of words every 15 minutes and elaborating on a harsh topic such as Cancer all day long, was the hardest.
