I grew at Petra diamonds. I was on their accelerated development program, where I gained managing skill. This is the company that was confident to appoint me as Head of Department in Human Resources Department.

I enjoyed working under the General Manager and I had great support from head office. I learned to stand for what I believe in. My manager should confidence in me to lead the operation and to do my best. 

The company has grown over the years and approached me to rejoin them but I couldn't because I am a very loyal person. I was focused to my current employer and I wanted to build my profile. They could not also meet or beat my salary, hence I remained with my current employer. Honestly, they Petra diamonds is the best employer or company to work for, in terms of their passion to develop their employees and employment equity drive.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Gained a different engineering experience working with metal art and designs in boiler making, fitting and Turning, machine operation. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You have to be always alert because it's dangerous everyday working on a risky area and everything everytime

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is safely made for danger prevention and the culture is good though there are negative employees and some bad  management seniors. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everyday is important not a only one day to take care of yourself

It's  a fun ,productive ,safety cultured, employee ownership taking culture and a fun place to work at. Has a high job security when you permanent. 
I started  at petra in 2010 October  as an engineering assistant, became instrumentation Apprentices January 2011,trade tested 2012  july and appointed 2012 jily as an instrumentation mechanician and 2015 trained as a successor for the Senior Technician via LDP program  and graduated 2017 and acted in the position 2018.

Good company and salaries are paid on time. The hours are flexible and safety is of a very high standard. The company also provides free transport to work and to place of residence after work. PPE is issued free of charge to all of it's employees and the standard of the Personal Protection Equipment is of a very high standard and the leadership of the organisational is very well skilled and professional. The standards of all positions occupied is of an exceptional standard, achieving targets before set deadlines.

The company itself is a good company however those who are in leadership during that time there a lot of nepotism and favouritism

Dealing with leadership that are not consistent and objective 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good at all, when you raise issues that relates to company culture you turn to be targeted

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You can plan your day but is not possible to implement

What is the best part of working at the company?
Availability of machinery for the plant to provide production

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When I  have not scheduled my work for breakdowns and maintenance

Ask for help if you struggle with something. 
Everyone is willing to help as a team.

Attend to maintenance and breakdowns

I am a hard working loyal individual who aim at completion of the job at hand at all costs, but strictly adhering to all health and Safety regulations.

I am a team player and treat each member of my crew and colleagues with the utmost respect.

I function very well under pressure and timelines.

I strive to uphold the Mission and Vision of the company I work for at all times and treat my superiors with the respect they deserve and abide to their decision making and planning.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Full of different unique challenges that stretched my mind to the fullest

Starting of early my typical day is full of problem solving,meetings,preparation of reports for management,handling queries and problems of employees and clients.
My department consist of 16 people all dedicated to their jobs.
The hardest part of my job is time restrictions and deadlines to meet for reporting and reconciliations.
My job is interesting and I have alot of challenges.

a Typical day at work is mostly drawing on Autocad for 7 diffrent mines located in Africa, i dont really have co-workers but have managers. The hardest part of this work is to help all the boilermakers on site and to provide drawings for the other 7 mines at the same time.

But I am a photographer to, photography is the one thing that i enjoy the most in my life.

i want to relocate to America or any other place exept in Africa
