What is the best part of working at the company?
Working for the company which its focus is all about being the best in whatever it takes was the best part in the company.  The company to assure the best quality it ensured that every employee be an eye on product to detect the deviation (a happy customer-a happy employee) we believe in the happiness of the last hand of our production from manufacturing process to the store shelves.

Environmental friendly, everyone is respected and equal despites the position held, and a family you will have in the company which is called a PolyFamily

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Would come in the morning do stock movements, stock checks and calculations, submit stock counts, production sheets and invoices, after would do sleeves, packaging and material supply, then later or during the day would be busy in the warehouse stacking, helping and doing housekeeping and packaging sorting

Micro-management principles were employed and as a result created a great deal of mistrust between internal suppliers e.g. the raw material department and finished goods department. Work began at 7am and ended at 4pm. Work was promised to be flexible if your portion was completed but there were so many changes in the production planning department that a person could not afford to leave early if they needed too. I was held accountable for waste of a 24 hour shift but only worked 8 hours a day so was imperative to get buy-in from your team to monitor, weigh and declare waste per shift. The salary and benefits were great but the culture was an "email" type culture where that was the base of communication so emails could be used as evidence against you IF something went wrong. You were always looking over your shoulder and doubting your work. There was just no fit between my values (which is more on people and managerial support) and the corporate culture.

I was brought into PolyOak in June 2012 as an electrician and have since been appointed as a maintenance technician. In my time spent there I have come to respect and admire managements efforts and opportunities given to the work force by improving and uplifting through training and maintaining consistently high standards. With a work motto that says “Be the best, whatever it takes”, its not difficult to figure out why they are the BEST! My role in the company: Reporting, investigating and eliminating problem areas in our production environment, thus improving machine capability and sustainability. Knowledge is power, and through sharing critical information regarding correct operational procedures of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, the understanding and knowledge of our machines made our team as a whole  more effective in achieving an efficient working environment.

Started at 7 in the mornings, getting organised on my daily activities did stock take every morning and ordering stock when there is short, verified all stock that was used, planning the production for the day and the next day, always made sure everything is neat and in order for unexpected visits. Work very close with co-workers on filling in on everything that happens during the day and also made sure that everything runs smooth.
The hardest part of the day when there was something happening unexpected to make sure that it have to be fixed before the shift changes and that there would be enough bottles in line for the Clover side to run smooth, enjoyable part is when everything is ordered and invoiced out and then you know that everyone and management is happy.
I did learn alot with teamwork you need a team to makes things work if there is no team nothing will run accordingly.

The most stressful parts of working at companies often revolve around heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and poor management communication

The work environment and culture are generally described as healthy, respectful, and team-oriented, with a strong focus on hard work and personal growth.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves balancing proactive project work with reactive communication, such as checking emails, attending meetings, and collaborating with colleagues.

It's been fun working at polyoak, they have a family like relationship and always calling it a polyfamily and it really is. It gets difficult at times when it's high pressure peak season but the team always manages to pull through. Lots of hard workers but they are not much appreciated or compensated for their efforts. Don't get me wrong polyoak does give competitive salaries and better than most companies since I've learnt from leaving there. But overall a great start out job but not one you should make a career out of if you are not in a senior role or have qualifications. 

The best things about polyoak is that they recruit internally so that employees have first privilege for new opening positions. The only problem is that your management can keep you back by giving you a bad review all because they don't want their subordinates to grow past them as they do not treat them well. But forget they came from the same place.

A typical day involved seeing at least 5 customers per day and liaising between internal sales and customer services for deliveries and handling account queries. Attending customer services, production and sales meeting on a regular basis. Responding to customer complaints and giving written feedback to clients. Reporting on daily activities.

Polyoak has a very autocratic management style.

I learnt that: Money is time and all resources are to be maximised and not waisted.

I really am very fond of the staff at Polyoak and have formed friendships that will last a lifetime.

The hardest part of the job was to walk away from customers that did not warrant Polyoak attention.

The most enjoyable part of the job was belonging to such an efficient, profitable and dynamic company.

Many of Polyoak's employees have been working there for many years and they work well together and show mutual respect for each other. For them the job is comfortable but they tend to make life hard for the newbies. They sit and pass the hard work on to the new people. Its a male dominated environment with a tendancy for micromanagement. The work is high pressure, fast paced and if your team is not supporting you will most certainly fail. Its an old school style of management and hierarchy and they tend to make life difficult for their female colleagues, particularly those in management roles.

Good company to work for and typical day goes smooth and without hiccups. Various departments and can only review on the one in currently working in. Training on machine operation and fault correction when needed. Management is good over-all. Co-workers always willing to teach and help new team members that does join the team. The hardest part of the job is that there is days that a machine gives problems due to settings and can be frustrating at times as production must go forward. Working with a great team and team leader always makes it a joy to work there.

Polyoak needs hard workers with fast hands and serious eye concentration, writing ability and calculating abilities to weigh mass. I have learned punctuality, team work, and time management. Managers, supervisors and team leaders are friendly and there is a good, friendly, helpful working environment with co-workers. The hardest part of the job is for the body to learn to adapt with changing different shifts (time schedules) weekly. The most enjoyable part of the job is learning to work in different departments and learning to work with different machines.
