PHARMACY DIRECT

I started working in the health industry fifteen years ago and have experience in all the medical aid scheme rules and regulations. 
On a daily basis I communicate verbally and in writing these rules and regulations to my management, colleagues and to the patients. 
I facilitate and assist junior colleagues within the team to comprehend and work within their scope of practice to assist patients with their needs, medication and requests. I assist them with queries resolving medication deliveries and any other complaints that they have to deliver the most efficient service.
I assist management with daily quality reports in conveying our service levels. 
My tasks also include implementing quality assurance by managing the work flow within the team to assure that we deliver the right medication to the right patients and address on time. 
I am professional and a hard worker with good communication skills. I am focused with a drive to succeed and respected. I'm an active team player.
I learn new methods fast and apply it to improving existing work related skills. I have the ability to prioritize and manage allocated tasks and to work under pressure with minimal supervision to assure targets is met. I give great attention to accuracy and details. 
I am looking to grow, learn and gain more experience in other customer care related fields.

The office hours are quite good. My day starts at 07H00 and finishes at 16H00 with an hour break. 
I've learnt the functions and operations of a courier pharmacy.
 
Management has been in place since the company started almost. They know the exact working and all the processes in the company.

 My co-workers are extremely helpful.

 The most difficult part of my job is being respectfully unafraid to assess a query although it might involve senior staff members. Also making sure that the submitted report is backed up with fact at all times.

 The most enjoyable part is when I am able to resolve a very intricate query.

A typical day includes working in various departments. For a few hours in the day you will be loading and approving prescriptions on the online system (Allegra). Thereafter, the day consists of doing quality assurance checks on all packages which are going to be dispatched to various facilities around the country. Certain days are spent in the stock room with the S5 medicines, these are counted and pre-packed to minimize quantity errors. 
This job has improved my knowledge of stock control and stock ordering. It has also improved my knowledge of the STGs and EML as that was the formulary we used when assessing prescriptions. This also enhanced my knowledge of drug interactions.

a typical day at work will be when you go home and feel you
have done everything you can for youre patients,you have
done youre best to do as much as what is expected from you.Always try and keep the patients happy,help youre co workers
en work well together because youre with them 99% of the day.Do youre work correct from the first time to save time by doing it
a second time again,do every thing you can to the best of youre
ability so that you can be proud of yourself at the end of the day
and know you have done all what was expected from you and it was
done corretly the first time.

A typical day at work, will only be productive if you can feel that you did 200% 

I have learned that there is no such thing as a difficult customer, its all in your approach.

Don't waist time chatting with co-workers, customers come first.

Working with customers that is not South African and communication is some times a no go.

The job requires long hours on the road. People skills and problem solving is essential to success on the job. This position is not office bound so work hours are set by the employee so discipline needs to be very important to achieve goals. This positions is excellent in that you get to interact with different types of people from different spheres of life.
