O Keeffe & Swartz has a good work ethic. I learnt that from the time I started training. The training programme was separeted into two sections, traning which was mostly theory and academy which was the practical aspect.

Training is where I learnt the importance of product knowledge, product presentation, how to handle objections and the foundations of sale. Being sales consultant mostly required me to have good communication skills, O' Keeffe & Swartz helped me make use of that natural ability.

During academy I was taught how to use computer programmes such as CROSSELL and PHOENIX. This also helped enhance my computer skills abilities. Calling clients and making sales during these calls was expected from me to qualify aas an OKS sales consultant.

The training programme was a growing process for me, pushing myself to come out on top at all times. I was put of the sales floor to start performing, I was briefed on the product my team was dialing, wrote a test and started calling clients. Targets were set and targets had to be met. The team leaders would try assisst me best they could so that we find new ways of presenting to clients. What I appreciated most as well was the team work spirit that motivated us further. The older consultants would be very helpfull when posting your first sale or how to deal with irrate, rude or difficult clients.

The hardest part of the day was not having made a sale at all since I clocked in. The best part was when I reached my set target for the day!


I worked at O'keefe & Swarts for 3 years and had mixed experiences. On the positive side, the company culture was vibrant and inclusive, with talented colleagues who were passionate about their work. The organization's mission and values aligned with my own, and I appreciated the opportunities for growth and development.

However, my experience was marred by poor management. The leadership team often prioritized short-term goals over employee well-being, leading to:

- Overwork and burnout
- Lack of clear communication and transparency

Despite these challenges, I appreciated the company's commitment making sure I grade and make money. If management could focus on improving employee relationships and work-life balance, I believe O'keefe & Swarts could become an exceptional place to work







A training coordinator coordinates training among other tasks such as: 
*Organise Training equipment, documentation required for training.
*Complete administrative services related to training ,including scheduling of attendance registers.		
*Meeting minutes taking and reporting	
*Administration of Workplace skills plans(WSP) and annual training reports(ATR)capturing on VIP			
*Maintain and update an orderly filling system and archiving of records			
*Prepare weekly and monthly statistical reports	
*Recording and maintenance of the training database and filling in house and external training records		
*Assist with documentation of training manuals and business processes and user training. 			
*Assist with budgets and training costs allocation	
*FAIS accreditation management with INSETA

I enjoy what I do and all the different challenges I face on a daily basis.

Unreasonably long hours. It's written on the contract you work from 8am-4pm but it's a lie you work from 8am-7pm/8pm then 2 compulsory days. You get threats and endless warnings. They'll play your calls for the whole floor to hear if you don't perform well. Intense pressure. They have a exploitative commission structure. You get paid R4500 pm but with incentives you get more. If you want to work there be mentally prepared or else you'll suffer. There was always people that are leaving during and after training because of the floor pressure and brutality of working in a sales environment ,if you don't perform well your team leader will eat you up alive and shout at you. 

Management at O'keeffe was very good and very supportive, they knew what they where doing and they could groom you as an individual.

Hardest part of my job is when my team is not performing and other teams are doing well.

My Co-workers where team players and very supportive towards one another at work even outside of work.

Most enjoyable part of my job is reaching my targets meaning I am making money for myself and the company.

I learned a lot when it comes to the sales process when I joined O'keeffe. I learned working under pressure, how to handle dificult clients and also how to sell and handle myself in the work place.

Every morning there is a meeting with the team leader for a strategy session and motivation buildup.

I learned how to relate to convince clients that the products sold were beneficial to their lives.

Management was easy to work with they had set targets they provided and with enough work hours the targets were met.

The environment was friendly if you had a problem there was always someone to assist you, there were fun days and product promotion days.

the hardest part about the job was managing rejection of product sales but over time one becomes good at handling calls and moving on to the next client

What is the best part of working at the company?
People are amazing the system sucks working 11hours a day 5days or 6 days a week is a lot. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It's sales I mean what else do you expect 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Beautiful it's grows you as the a person make money is what rings in your head all day every day if it isn't by choice they make sure they force it in you. Amazing place for growth.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful. RPC and SALES are your main factors everyday not forgetting the coachings

positive morning meetings. excitement on the floor through the day. i have learned how to handle objections from clients and how to relate to people and there wants on a daily basis. my co-workers has always been helpful and always had a positive impact on my goals at hand. the hardest part of this job was not receiving the money for the work that was given.i mostly enjoyed selling to banking clients the trust is there especially when one is a sales agent dialing .i had fun working with my colleagues and manages and learned a lot from them.

We worked under pressure but we were well compensated for it. we had fun while working although at times bringing sales to the board proved difficult we were constantly motivated. we had marathon days, great year end functions and braais. Management would go over the limit to show us we are worth keeping. Had I not been following more money atthetime, I would have stayed and grown in this company. I am great at what I do because of the foundation laid by this company.

Daily motivations everyday before we start working. Learned that if I am confident in myself, I can be confident in my work also. The managers were very much encouraging. Always reminded me of the potential I have and how I can grow within the business. A very vibrant place with a group of people from different backgrounds and cultures. Since it is a target driven environment...working long hours was the hard part. What I enjoyed the most about the job was that on a monthly basis management acknowledge those who do well.
