Sampling equipment and on-line analyser inspection, Results interpretation and reconciliation of data. Production reports and attending meetings with different personnel for plant updates and planned work. On-going training for process improvement. Review of current practices and assessment of alternatives. Trouble shooting and feasibility studies for process efficiency. Sample preparation and ensuring proper material handling and procedures are followed.

Just normal. No pressure at all.

It was really interesting working for South Deep,  looking at it's complexity and unique type of mining. 
Work/life not balanced.  Long hours spent. Proper structures needed to narrow unnecessary long hours. 

Production teams not properly trained to be self directed working teams.

We started the day with a safety meeting where safety is number one priority including the risk assessment towards each work/job at hand.An industry with diverse culture where teamwork is always encouraged by management and fellow employees.It is a learning institution on trackless machines.

South Deep is a good place to work​, it has tolerable working hours, you can even get overtime, standby and call outs. There's development at the company and you get training and refreshers course onthe machines you work on.

What I like is security is very tired and on the safety is good the always make sure they apply safety before doing any task given, safety at south deep is very important. 

Different cultures and a very good environment to work at where everybody knows each other and making sure that being productive is the most important aspect.
