I am actually based at the client , so every morning we have a Project meeting, to give the client feed back owith regards to the Projects etc.

I have learned to be more patient with people and more assertive. And never to take things personally because the envioriomnet is a bit hectic, everythng is urgent we mostly working under pressure.

My co-workers are great people to work with, except when some start compromising the quality , which affects my Billing.

Having to phone them every hour to remind about their task.

Working with the field engineer/technican, in terms of them submitting documentations is really a nightmare , one have to be super patient, the infomration that they submit so i ca QA, is mostly incorect as aresult my Billing will be late.And actually relying on other people who hardly take what they do very seriously. the quality is very important.

When we have reached our deliverable and the client is satisfied ,I am the most happiest peron, as to me customer service is vry important. And the second one is when the clients has signed through the Billing then im over the moon , because I know the company that I work for will get money , and that is the best part of my job , in Project to make money for my company.

Gijima was like a family environment. There was always team spirit and everyone worked hard and always tried our utmost to reach our targets. Even though we worked hard we had our fun which made it an healthy environment as there was always someone to make our day.
When you start your day you just keep going and forget about the time until it is time to go home again. I have learned that if your Manager communicate with his or her staff things becomes so much better as they are always there when you need there assistance.
Management was always there to assist and you could go to them any time for assistance and they will give advice and are very understanding.
My co-workers had lots of respect for one another and are always willing to assist one another. We looked out for one another and were like a real family.
The hardest part of the job was when the clients don't deliver as promised which throws out your forecast.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when you achieve something where no one else could and when you get a pat on the back to say well done.

Of all the places I have worked at in my life, none have had me away from my family as much as Gijima has except the British Armed Forces.  I am a hard worker and initially, I was naive and failed to see to what extent it was being abused.  I have also not ever imagined that I would lose so much in my life due to the company downsizing, decreasing my income and not increasing wages for 3.5 years consecutively, while living expenses got higher and higher.  The shifting around between sites also did not give me the opportunity to provide my family with the stability I would have liked to provide them with as I would be in Pretoria and then have to move to Johannesburg.  Then I would be required to move to Centurion, then back to Johannesburg and now, finally, back in Pretoria and settled in.

Since moving out of the Field Support department into an office bound position, though, things have started to improve.  Slowly, but at least the stability in out lives are starting to take root now and I feel a lot better about the company.

I spent most of my days developing new systems, maintaining existing ones, documantation, giving support to client and being on 24 hr standby.

I learned to be proactive and to work closely with the client to be able to always provide them with solutions that will enhance their work, solutions they need.

Management was good but failed to motivate their employees especially on outstanding achievements.

Excellent co-workers who were very helpful but lacked the motivation from management.

The hardest part of my job was getting a callout to correcting an error on an existing program that does not have documentation and the person who wrote the program doesn't know where the problem might be. In the end you find that it is actually a data problem that the program did not cater for and you only find this after spending hours going through thousands of data.

The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to work "Flexy Times" where you could do your work anytime of the day as long as you make your deadlines and as an early morning person, I was able to work from home anytime I could.

Being an outsourcing company I find myself based at client site and not head office. 
Arrive at work before 7:30 refreshed and ready for the days challengers cause there is always something new everyday.
There are various types of people in every organization and we should choose our words carefully when speaking and interacting  with them.
Management will always encourage you to give off your best no matter what the situation it , one should really be calm in the IT environment. Pleasure to work with some co - workers, some like to work as individuals and other in a team which is much better.
Hardest part will be when you cannot get a hold of clients and you have work to do , it sort of messes up your entire day but you work around it .Most enjoyable part of the job will be when you setup appointments and are able to meet clients on time and you are able to resolve their IT requests sooner than expected and on the first attempt. The other enjoyable part will be the get together we have as a team and we get to socialize with our fellow colleagues

A Typical day at work:
I get my work through emails with all the details of the Client and the Clients problem with his\her PC or laptop,I go there and assist with the problem and inform my team leader through the email what i have done.I help the client with:
Connection to printers
Connection to 3G
Load Clients Profile
Configure emails and any emails related problems
Connected Clients to the internet\intranet
Reload clients PC or Laptops
etc

My team leader and the Manager have been very supportive and taught me lots of things,they are a real motivation behind my succeess

Responsible for total management of business unit including all aspects of resources, financials, marketing and ensuring business growth.
Have reported into the CIO with a dotted line to the CEO. Apart from regular progress meetings I have operated independently to a large degree. My work entails a lot of travelling - locally and abroad. I have worked closely with all other business units in the organization on all levels. I had teams in the different business areas as well as external partners and vendors. The most difficult was to grow business in difficult financial times where hardly any resources were available. 
The most enjoyable was to see the exponential growth in the different initiatives as well as the international  and local recognition for our achievements in a short period of time.

Always at work very supportive to clients cause in IT u would find clients frustrated on computers or servers offline cant receive mails or internet problems ,if I have lot of call some I do the remotely to safe time and keep them working and I found that easy for me have a grade  relationship and keep them happy, basically manage my job and try to resolve all problems . I also like to work very close with my team so that I can know and understand who is strong where and if the is a problems to be resolved I would know who call and help that I do on team practise and team building to have a strong team and manage them. hardest part is not to communicate and lack respects on my job and clients .Enjoyable is to my best keep my clients happy and to grow and more client in the industry .

A typical day at my work I monitor servers,check alerts and go to the server room each morning to check for any amber lights then inform client(sars) to log me calls to resolve the problems.

Management is ok, depending on the pressure from client.If a request call is assigned to us then management do let me know and also putting pressure on me to resolve the incident which keeps me on my tows every time and that keeps my mind sharp and active.Getting to fix a problem given 2hr SLA is exciting and you always on pressure which is good thing.

Hardest part of this job is just the servers/blade/rack mounts because they are heavy and other thing is that we do not have Remote access to the servers while at home so that means if an incident is logged we have to go to site anytime of the night.that I am honestly exhausted of :-).

My most enjoyable part of the job is that i have more time to study because servers don't usually go down every time.
