Gelmar is a productive, freinndly enviroment with good management. There are always new products to sale. Training was frequent and very beneficial. It was fun meeting diffeerent new customers everyday and to learn from some of our professional home improvement customers. The hardest part of the day i would say is when you have new products which you still need to learn about, so you can educate customers about it. The most enjoyable part was the friendly atmosphere and to see the customers happy and satisfied.

None,you need to be discipline orientated and willingness to learn.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Exceptional ,sales driven lot of support given and places a lot of emphasis on teamwork.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Exciting, as the company is always busy ,if you  are people orientated,you will enjoy working for the company.

days were rough some times but manage to got thru them
ive learned so much about the products and equipment 
people who work and buy there are very friendly and they make you feel comfortable
my co- workers are very supportive and they helped me when ever I needed help with anything
hardest part of the job?-  learning the codes of the equipment in the store
most enjoyable?- the fact that I have learned so much and that I have boosted my knowledge and experience

Management style is not so on,so I wouldn't advice anyone with retail sales experience to go work there because they won't be valued,you'll be demoralized because your views and knowledge would be useless for them as they  don't hire for experience they hire working machines

If your white and working for gelmar you do not stand a chance to get promoted . But if your black your chances are great as gelmar is strong BEE. Cashier's with no work history becomes managers. It's hard work and cheap labour in overall

Its a fun challenging job, you get allot of work experience at the company, the business has allot of task required , you have to be able to do a little bit of this and that.

Great customers, incompetent manager, micro management style, back stabbing and gossiping which is feuled by insecure manager. Sacrificed lunch breaks don't get paid and staff is always kept after work to mop floors and clean toilets. 

Giving customer the service ever,packing the shelves nicely done ,the staff is friendly and helpful at all the time an also learned working under pressure with the people

I use to love what I was doing. Opening and closing times was hard.
But it never felt like work. I was very successful and confident in what I was doing.

There is always work at Gelmar, never a quiet day.
Clients are generally the highlight of every day.
