Answering calls and attending to customer queries.
           Providing courteous and effective customer service.
           Maintaining department shelves by observing displays  
           Removing damaged products from the department.
           Providing optimum display of products.
           Assisting field sales reps set up for promotions.           
           Arranging stock deliveries to customer and following 
           Up with a phone call to customer to confirm delivery.
           Placing order to replenish merchandise. (POM 
           System) Approx. R600k per week
           Receiving stock on the system. Approx. 120 units per 
           Week.
           Forecasting supply and demand of merchandise.
           Oversee storage of stock, particularly fragile items.
           Keep updated inventory records.
           Facilitating stock takes.  
           Send stock variance reports to store manager for 
           adjustments.
           Presenting high-risk counts, stock movement,
           Turnover and individual sales reports.
           Maintaining pricing plans and promotions.
           Answering calls and attending to customer queries.
           Partner with store manager to launch new products.
           Inspect post-launch results and drive improved results
           Attend training on new products.

Every day was exciting for someone like me who like to deal with challenges as I used to deal with different customers with different attitudes which that taught me patience.

Patience was one the things I learnt the most and how to be persistent with a customer's attitude. I learnt how to admit something even if I am not wrong but the customer. Discipline and being civil were one of the principles I learnt when it comes to dealing with people.

The management was vibrant and appealing to help every time I had a problem. The environment they created was healthy and open for the workers to get assistance at its best.

As I was new in the shop the co-workers were willing to help and assist with anything I did not know.

The hardest part of the job was to be flexible around the floor of the store as I was a "flexi" which mean I was everywhere the assistance was needed.

The most enjoyable part of the job was to help customers and enjoying "thank yous" they give after I helped them.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The  managers are so toxic which results in a toxic working environment for team members. They don't have management skills including the Regional especially region 2 which is westgate n clearwater, they always blames team members but forgot that they are the once to be blamed..very toxic place to work at😭😭😭

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I always go extra miles in everything I do but still they don't appreciate including management duties.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, headache and stressful, the company needs to acknowledge their team members, atleast praise them on the good things they do, in that way you are fueling their energy to continue working.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Black friday, the whole day u'll be on yr feet assist customers but j enjoy assisting them as they are the ones bringing food to my table.

MY DAY STARTS AT 7:45 I SHOULD BE THERE ALREADY, SWITCH ON THE SWITCHBOARD AND SWITCH THE MUSIC ON FOR THE FLOOR. THE PHONES START RINGING FOR INBOUND AND OUTBOUND FOR EITHER PUTTING THEM THROUGH SUPPLIER, TECHNICIAN FOR CUSTOMER QUERIES AND OUTBOUNDS WOULD BE CUSTOMERS WANTING TO SPEAK OR QUERYING FOR PROMOTIONS PAPERS THEN I WOULD PUT THEM THROUGH OR ASSIST THEM AS I ALWAYS HAVE PROMOTIONAL PAPERS ON MY DESK.MANAGEMENT  ASKING TO PUT THEM THROUGH OTHER FLOOR MANAGERS OR OTHER STORES FOR QUERIES.CO ASKING TO BE PUT THROUGH OR COMING TO FAX OR MAKING COPIES  AND ASKING ME TO PAGE FOR CUSTOMERS OR STOCK CONTROLLERS TO THEIR DEPARTMENTS FOR CUSTOMERS. THE HARDEST PART OF MY JOB IS MOST TIMES WHEN NEEDING TO BE RELIEVED JUST TO GO AND EAT OR GOING TO TOILET, I CANNOT LIVE THE SWITCHBOARD UN ATTENDED AS IT WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR ME. WHAT I ENJOY MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS ASSISTING CUSTOMERS  AND ASSISTING MY CO-WORKERS TO DO THEIR JOBS PROPERLY

The job was only for a day while I was still in high school game store manager visited the school to ask student to do stock taking to gain experience. The job was exciting we went on a Sunday from 12 pm till 7 pm we got free refreshments after doing the job our remuneration followed a week later. I learned to work in group and how team work operates how to treat other members equally without disrespecting them. I gained experience how to do stock taking and what is expected from us if something goes wrong is to report immediately so the matter can be looked into. The staff showed us how things work in the organization they were very nice people and so helpful to us the management as a whole. Nothing was difficult everything do-able it was exciting and mind opening.

I would come in at 8:30 where my shift would start at 9:00. I would first have to write out my key of the stockroom, this meant i had full control of stockroom until my the store closed and i wrote the key back at facilities. My Day could be forwarding stock in bins(shelf) that can be located on the system used by Game Stores to locate stock and make orders. This online system i had to update every morning and every day before i leave. The more accuracy i had with my daily work ( forwarding and requesting) the easier the stores stock rotation and intake went. Forwarding was the process of taking stock in the stockroom and requesting was pulling stock from the stockroom.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I gained the experience. Communication skills, listening and new adventure on working in the different areas and departments and also Game gave me the opportunity to learn and graduted in Nongoma Tvet college doing Nqf level 2 and 3 on W&R Seta

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Reaching the target every month especially after the covid ut was hard to do so

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly warm environment you feel at home thats is why it is so easy to practice their culture which is Happy to  help our customers they must feel at home and treat them with love and respect

typical day making sure the pricing is correct,stock availability both promotional and non promotional,checking on outstanding orders for my customers as well as direct customer service.I've learnt that customers enjoy being treated with dignity,respect and professionalism backed by ability to know your product you selling to them.Management visibility and accessibility so important especially when escalating a customer dissatisfaction
the hardest part is when I am unable to seal the deal and enventually the customer takes the business elsewhere
helping the customer is the most enjoyable part of my job and also able to hv on going after sale customer service

Worked there for quite some time, had no off weekends, leave was not an option, staff was always short and you had to deal with more than one person at one staged time, sometimes could not have lunch breaks when other employees are booked off sick or absent...stocktakes would see you up for over 12 hours on that same day, leave work at about 9 to get at home by 10...wake up at 6 anyway to prepare for the next day...minimum wage...cancelled commissions...supplier paid incentives weren't always paid...memorable but a true eye opener that retail is hard work

No direct communication from top management regarding any changes to Game stores policies.

Its great. Yes, there's pressure to perform, however overall energetic environment.
