Job Title: Tourism Lecturer (NATED N4–N6)

PAX College is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Tourism Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering lectures and supporting students across the NATED Tourism N4–N6 programmes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and academic support to students enrolled in Tourism N4, N5, and N6 programmes.
- Teach core NATED Tourism modules including Tourism Communication, Travel Office Procedures, Tourism Destinations, and Travel Services (N4–N6), incorporating airline reservations, airfare calculations, travel documentation, passenger services, airport operations, travel itineraries, travel agency procedures, and customer service in accordance with the DHET NATED curriculum.
- Deliver practical instruction in travel agency operations, including airline ticketing principles, fare quotations, reservation procedures, and the application of Computer Reservation Systems (CRS) and Global Distribution Systems (GDS), where applicable.
- Develop structured lesson plans and learning materials aligned with the DHET NATED curriculum requirements.
- Conduct assessments, mark examinations, and provide constructive academic feedback to support student success.
- Prepare students for external DHET examinations and ensure full syllabus coverage within required timelines.
- Maintain accurate academic records, attendance registers, and assessment documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings, moderation processes, curriculum reviews, and professional development initiatives.
- Provide academic guidance and student support through consultations and mentoring.
- Contribute to the growth and continuous development of the Tourism Department and its programmes.
Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Travel & Tourism, Education, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) will be advantageous.
- Previous lecturing experience in NATED Tourism N4–N6 modules is highly desirable.
- Practical industry experience within a travel agency, airline, tour operator, destination management company, or tourism organisation will be a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the NATED Tourism curriculum and DHET examination requirements.
- Sound knowledge of airline reservations, airfare calculations, airline ticketing principles, travel documentation, visa requirements, passenger services, airport procedures, and travel agency operations.
- Experience using Computer Reservation Systems (CRS) or Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, or Travelport will be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students in both theoretical and practical components of Tourism studies.
- Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
- Strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high academic standards.

Only candidates who are suitably qualified and capable of lecturing NATED Tourism N4–N6 modules will be considered.
This position requires more than general Tourism lecturing experience. Applicants must demonstrate sound knowledge of the Travel Services N4–N6 curriculum, including airline reservations, airfare calculations, ticketing procedures, travel documentation, passenger services, airport operations, and travel agency practices.
Preference will be given to candidates who have previous industry experience in a travel agency or airline environment, or who have taught the Travel Services N4–N6 modules with practical airline ticketing and reservation components.
Candidates are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the NATED Tourism curriculum, as subject knowledge may be assessed during the interview process through discussion and/or a teaching demonstration.
